2. We have found this advert by an artist
called Ron Sexsmith. Although we are not
aware of who he is, his musical advert has
appealed to us and inspired us to create
something similar. The green background is
what makes the artist stand out in this
image, and so we want to use a green
background, but a different tone- perhaps
more vibrant.
His costume colour is also eye-catching,
however we would like to use an effect
from an online application tool to create a
hue effect or "burning" effect. That will
create those orange and yellow tones.
3. Again, the use of colours here is something
that has attracted us from an audience's
perspective. It makes the artist stand out.
The font size and style is something we like as
well. It looks simplistic and easy to read. It
doesn't draw the attention away from the
artist. We want to use a similar font for that
purpose.
4. I was doing some research on magazine
adverts, what they look like and the sorts of
images that we could get inspiration from. I
liked this Lana Del Ray one in particular,
because of its simplicity. There's not too much
going on in this advert which really makes the
artist stand out, as they are the central focus in
this case. She is directly looking into the
camera, which is something we will do for our
advert (it will break the 4th wall), as it would
create some sort of connection between the
artist and the audience. We will also use a mid-
shot to show the artist's facial expression and
clothing to show what sort of artist he is (for
example, Western R&B artist).
