Career Highlights
In 1991 following complete loss of both cold stores as the result of a fire, led a project team in the
rebuilding programme, which provided two new stores with a combined capacity of 40,000 square
feet and 7,500 pallet capacity. Associated with the reopening of the site was the recruitment of
Warehousing, Administration and Distribution personnel.
In 1995 set up a Regional RH & D operation for a major ice-cream retailer.
In 1996 Installation of 4 level mezzanine floor to accommodate 5,000 slow moving skus.
In 2006 played a leading role in the creation, and development of a national case picking, and
delivery operation for a major High Street chain, offering a six day and bank holiday delivery
service, this resulted in a saving to the business of £350K.
In 2008 led a business start-up initiative to offer a full non-food/food service operation to a major
national pub/restaurant chain, which resulted in a saving to the business of £250K per year.
In 2009 managed removal of 5000 pallets stockholding to facilitate a national third party frozen
RH & D operation for a number of leading High Street operations, which generated £300K of
revenue for the site.
In 2013 led a team, whose objective was to transition the site to a multi temperature operation,
both in Warehouse and Distribution. This was done in 5 phases over an 18 month period,
resulting in the operation doubling in size, employing 120 Warehouse, and 110 Distribution
personnel, with 65 vehicles handling 52,000 cases per night. This included major changes to
colleagues’ terms and conditions. During transition, there were many building and operational
changes required, all of which had to be managed at the same time as maintaining a business as
usual operation.

Distribution Centre Manager
Responsible for control and management of all Warehousing and Distribution operations, with
relevant management teams to support an operation with 200 people, 65 vehicles across 24/7
operation, making 4500 deliveries per week and 250000 cases to a varying customer base,
schools, hospitals, clubs, restaurants etc.
Responsible for budgetary development and control of £10M per annum.
Control of peak stock holding at key times i.e. Bank Holidays, Christmas, schools returning.
Development and management of all Warehouse and Distribution processes to a required level.
Helping to achieve all recognised internal and external standards BRC, ISO14001, FFF etc.
Responsible for ensuring site is fully optimised in terms of stock holding and stock accuracy.
Delivering a minimum customer service level of 99.4% through management of KPI’s, covering
picking accuracy, delivery times, returned orders, stock accuracy and availability.

Distribution Centre Manager
Responsible for the control and management of all Warehousing and Distribution operations
utilising management teams to support.
Creation and development of an annual budget of circa £3M.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, whilst at the same time meeting company
requirements and standards.

Assistant Depot Manager
Management of a team of 50 Warehouse related colleagues.
Responsible for stock control and day/night Warehousing operation including all aspects of RH &
D with a daily intake of 100 pallets and storage of up to 2500 pallets over 3000 sku’s.
Organised daily, weekly briefs were effectively communicated enabling colleagues to understand
what the objectives were and how our performance was against them.
Developed an open culture allowing the teams to put forward ideas and offer solutions to any
operating issues that arose.
Responsible for creation and management of annual budget of circa £1.5M.
Continuously developed the Warehouse Management team to be versatile, self-motivating and
perform to the highest standard.
Maintaining accurate stock levels through the introduction of a perpetual inventory system and
stock exception reports.

Stock Investigator
Joined the company as Stock Investigator at their newly acquired depot in Lincoln. As the
business was expanding rapidly at this time, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to be involved
in stock taking, and many other duties at the various sites that were being acquired.
