Multi-Agency Planning
 North Chicago Police Department
o They will be doing a presentation to address the issue on bullying.
 North Chicago Fire Department
o They will be doing a presentation on fire safety.
 North Chicago Public Library
o A librarian will be sharing information on how to apply for a library card, borrow
books and all the different services that the library offers.
 American Hearts Association
o A representative will be doing a presentation on healthy eating and the
importance of exercising regularly.
 UNICEF
o A representative will be doing a presentation on the importance of showing
compassion to children who lack resources such as education, food, water and
what we can do to help.
 Northwestern University
o A group of volunteers will be visiting the school to engage and interact with
students.
 YMCA
o A representative will be doing a presentation about the programs they offer.

School Health
Physical
 By inviting the American Hearts Association to present, students will get an opportunity
to learn more about the importance of exercising regularly and eating healthy balance
meals. The representative will provide visual chart to show the food pyramid as well as
types of food that students can choose from. Students will also learn about the effects of
drugs and smoking on our bodies.
 North Chicago Fire Department will be doing their annual fire safety talk to all students.
They will be reminding students about the “Stop, Drop and Roll” method and to dial 911
in case of emergency.
Social-emotional
 Bullying is always an important topic that needs to be addressed regularly. Two police
officers from the North Chicago Police Department will be presenting this topic to all
students in a school assembly. The officers will provide the definition of bullying,
different types of bullying as well as ways to prevent or overcome bullying. They will
also talk about what others can do to stand up to bullies.
Case Planning
 North Chicago Public Library offers various programs for children and families. Most of
the programs are free for North Chicago residents. The librarian will be explaining some
of these programs to students as well as distributing flyers that they can take home to
share with parents. The flyers are printed in English and Spanish to accommodate non-
English speaking families.

 The local YMCA also offers many programs suitable for children and families. Their
programs are usually free or low-cost for residents. Their most beneficial programs are
camps or clubs that take place when schools are not in session so that working parents
can have somewhere safe for their children to go to.
