2. About Windows 10
• Windows 10 is a series of operating systems developed
by Microsoft and released as part of its Windows
NT family of operating systems. It is the successor
to Windows 8.1, released nearly two years earlier, and
was released to manufacturing on July 15, 2015, and
broadly released for the general public on July 29, 2015.
3. How to play an Audio file
1. Open the Windows Media Player and click the Play tab.
2. Click the Library button and search or browse for the media file that you want
to play OR
1. Double-click the item that you want to play, from the Details pane.
OR
1. Drag the item/items from the Details pane to the List pane and the first item in
the list will start playing.
4. How to Rip(Copy) CDs to the Computer
“Ripping” refers to extracting audio files off a CD and
copying them to your hard drive.
Steps:
i. Insert the CD into the computer’s CDROM drive.
ii. Load the CD.
iii. Songs pop up in Windows Media Player.
iv. Select the songs that required to be copied in the hard drive.
v. Press the button in the top of the application which is labelled as ‘Rip’.
vi. This process stores the copies of songs onto the computer’s hard drive.
5. How to Burn a CD/DVD (Copy files to a CD/DVD)
• "Burning" refers to the process of writing data onto a CD.
Steps:
i. Click on the burn button.
ii. Click on the Edit Playlist.
iii. A list consisting of all the music stored on the computer appears.
iv. Drag and drop songs from library to the burn list.
v. Insert a blank CD into the drive.
vi. Hit the button labelled as 'Start Burn'.
vii. CD pops out after the completion of the process.
6. How to display two windows side by side
i. Right-click on a blank part of the taskbar (even the clock will do) and
choose Show Windows Side by Side.
ii. The windows align next to each other, like pillars. To align them in
horizontal rows, choose Show Windows Stacked.
OR
i. To place four windows onscreen simultaneously, use the new Windows 10
feature and drag the title bar of each window to a different corner of the
screen. Each window resizes itself to grab its own quarter of the screen.
7. How to find the Pictures folder
1) File Explorer-> Pictures Folder in left pan of the screen.

1) Start-> Photos.
OR
1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Photos and then select the
Photos application from the results.
8. Disk clean–up in Windows
The Windows 10 comes with a new, easy-to-use tool for freeing
up disk space on the computer. Windows 10 automatically
scans the computer for unnecessary data that can be removed
to free up space. It removes all the temporary files that the user
may not need.
