(IE)
- It is the default web browser of
the Windows that enables us to
open and launches the internet. In

is replaced by Microsoft Edge.
10. A button is a Windows control used to initiate
an action. A control button is useful in
Windows application as resizing an application
is a usual thing in Windows environment.
Windows Desktop has four control buttons
which are:
● Minimize
● Maximize
● Restore

Minimize Button
- This button reduces the size of
the window on the desktop. When
the window is minimized, it is still
open and is represented by a
window button on the taskbar.

Maximize Button
- It is the button that enlarges a
window to its largest possible size
and the window will fit to the
whole screen.

Restore Button
- This button toggles when
maximize button is clicked or in
used and it returns a window into
its previous size.
15. How Recycle Bin Icon Works
When we delete a file or folder in our computer, it
does not actually get deleted right away but it
goes to the Recycle Bin.
If we ever change our mind and decide not to
delete the item permanently, we can restore it as
our file.
16. We can restore the deleted files in our computer by:
1. Double - click the Recycle bin Iicon on the desktop.
2. The Window of the recycle bin is displayed, do one of the following:
To restore all of the files, click Restore all items on the tool bar.
To Restore a certain file, click first the item to be restored in the
list, then click Restore this item on the tool bar.
3. The files will be restored to their original locations in our
computer.

17. My Computer Window
My Computer Icon accesses the devices that support your
computer such as hard disk, CD Drives, and removable
media. You can also access other devices that might be
connected to your computer such as external hard drives
and flash drives.
It is important to know the spaces available in your devices
for keeping the files and work done in your computer.
You can work around your computer in
several ways through My Computer icon
found on the desktop and navigating its
contents.
19. Hard Disk drives
The part allows us to view the content of our hard disk
drives. This is usually marked as drive C or drive D.

Devices with Removable Storage
This part allows us to view the contents of our DVD/CD/USB
drive and other removable storage devices such as Flash
Drive.
Network Location
This part of the My Computer allows us to view and
connect to a shared network folder in our computer.
20. The File Explorer
The File Explorer or previously known as Windows Explorer
displays the categorized structure of files, folders and
drives on your computer.
In Windows 7, you can use Windows Explorer by clicking
the Start Button. Choose Programs then Accessories and
select Windows Explorer.
