ability or extraordinary ability in a specific sphere of activity or
knowledge, is called Gifted child.
Children who give evidence of high performance capability in areas such
as intellectual, creative, artistic, leadership capacity, or specific academic
fields, and who require services or activities not ordinarily provided by the
school in order to fully develop such capabilities.

5. Problem facing a Gifted Child
Gifted children are often misdiagnosed, bullied or disaffected.
Boredom may set in if teachers do not understand how a gifted child thinks
and works. This may lead to the child resorting to bad behavior with
ensuing punishment.
Peer group mixing can be very difficult as the child thinks differently.
Success does not equal popularity. Gifted children often get a poor deal
because we live in a culture that finds celebrating success very difficult.
They have an intellect that is more developmentally advanced than their
social and emotional needs.
Fast workers are often told to ‘do more of the same', but repetition of the
same concepts is anathema to a brain that picks up ideas quickly.
