PROJECT MANAGER – Nhullunbuy
Delivery of multiple projects at the Gove Alcan Rio Tinto site. Contractor demobilisation. Front End project
development and constructability review
 Managing major contract close out for the previously “preferred” site contractor of 9 years.
 Managing Contractor construction project planning within implementation phase, setting objectives, KPI’s and
performance goals within the demobilisation deadline.

MANAGER CAPITAL PROJECTS – SMR Alliance (Russia) 2009
Whilst residing in Russia to lead the Project execution within the SMR alliance contract, with SMR being Russia’s
leading extractor of molybdenum and producer of ferromolybdenum (FeMo); together its mines constitute the largest
molybdenum reserves in Russia
 Preparing and recommending capital construction implementation projects which focus on increased productivity
through improved plant operability and availability for SMR plants.
 Alliance planning of construction projects, setting objectives, KPI’s and performance goals.
 Report on engineering and construction activities and progress to CEO level
 Conducting initial feasibility and FEED studies on proposed CAPEX works for two $300million plant upgrades,

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER & ALLIANCE 2IC 2006 to 2008
The Nyrstar / Zinifex Alliance is a joint venture which sees Zinifex merge their zinc, lead smelting and alloying
businesses into Nyrstar, the world’s largest zinc metal producer and one of the largest producers of primary lead.
 Oversaw a capital investment budget of $72million per year, identifying projects by priority which best met Alliance
goals and objectives for performance and productivity.
 Conducted constructability reviews during design, feasibility & preliminary phases.
 Lead pre and post tender awards negotiations, and selection and management of contractors to ensure the safe
delivery of construction outcomes whilst maintaining acceptable HR / IR.
 Established, monitored and report against project KPI’s to all project sponsors and stakeholders
 Construction Management, providing onsite direction and project leadership for multiple projects, with full
responsibility for OHS&E, QA, Customer relations, Supervision and Contract management.
 Budget management, scheduling, risk and performance management.
 Provided leadership and direction across a team of up to 25 multi-disciplined engineering staff.

JR Engineering Services Pty Ltd (Roche Mining Process Engineering/Downer) 2004 to 2006
OPERATIONS / AREA MANAGER / NSW
Roche is a division of Downer EDI, an Australian top 100 ASX listed company employing more than 20,000 people
across business divisions specialising in engineering services, transport, energy, telecommunications and resources.
 Appointed to lead the operational development of Roche Mining’s Mt Thorely Workshop Area, an operation which
was required to support a significant growth plan by Roche in engineering services for the area.
 Tender evaluation and bid, procurement, execution and commissioning.
 Control of workforce up to ranging from 40 to 210 personnel skilled and unskilled.
 Defined the business case and wrote associated proposals of capital purchases of up to $2million per item, with
following responsibility for project management of capital equipment upgrades, fabrications, refurbs etc.
 Managed the control and maintenance plan for a fleet of 14 to 50 tonne cranes, elevated work platforms, trucks
and light vehicles also the workshop machinery maintenance programming.
 Monthly reporting of Financial, Safety and Human resources directly to head office.
 Implemented policies and procedures both financial, operational and human resources to ensure competitive
standing in industry environment and allow continuous improvement in all aspects of business.
Grew business operations from 12 staff to 210 staff (against plan) achieving a full operational turnaround and quickly
growing turnover from $8,000 per month to +$1million per month and also led the implementation of a Certified
industrial agreement and EBA awards.

 JR Engineering Services Pty Ltd were a major part of the Olympic Dam operations, responsible for the electrical,
underground fleet and ore handling maintainence contract for WMC, the project division complemented the
maintence contract and also executed project and maintainence work in the process plant and surface and
underground mine operation

Worley Parsons / Nyrstar / Zinifex CONSTRUCTION MANAGER & ALLIANCE 2IC 2006 to 2008 The Nyrstar / Zinifex Alliance is a joint venture which sees Zinifex merge their zinc, lead smelting and alloying businesses into Nyrstar, the world’s largest zinc metal producer and one of the largest producers of primary lead.  Oversaw a capital investment budget of $72million per year, identifying projects by priority which best met Alliance goals and objectives for performance and productivity.  Conducted constructability reviews during design, feasibility & preliminary phases.  Lead pre and post tender awards negotiations, and selection and management of contractors to ensure the safe delivery of construction outcomes whilst maintaining acceptable HR / IR.  Established, monitored and report against project KPI’s to all project sponsors and stakeholders  Construction Management, providing onsite direction and project leadership for multiple projects, with full responsibility for OHS&E, QA, Customer relations, Supervision and Contract management.  Budget management, scheduling, risk and performance management.  Provided leadership and direction across a team of up to 25 multi-disciplined engineering staff. Ensured all projects met with stringent time controls and budgeted requirements, successfully growing relations across WorleyParsons and the Nyrstar / Zinifex Alliance, and leading multiple projects from initiation throught to completion to achieve business goals. JR Engineering Services Pty Ltd (Roche Mining Process Engineering/Downer) 2004 to 2006 OPERATIONS / AREA MANAGER / NSW Roche is a division of Downer EDI, an Australian top 100 ASX listed company employing more than 20,000 people across business divisions specialising in engineering services, transport, energy, telecommunications and resources.  Appointed to lead the operational development of Roche Mining’s Mt Thorely Workshop Area, an operation which was required to support a significant growth plan by Roche in engineering services for the area.  Tender evaluation and bid, procurement, execution and commissioning.  Control of workforce up to ranging from 40 to 210 personnel skilled and unskilled.  Defined the business case and wrote associated proposals of capital purchases of up to $2million per item, with following responsibility for project management of capital equipment upgrades, fabrications, refurbs etc.  Managed the control and maintenance plan for a fleet of 14 to 50 tonne cranes, elevated work platforms, trucks and light vehicles also the workshop machinery maintenance programming.  Monthly reporting of Financial, Safety and Human resources directly to head office.  Implemented policies and procedures both financial, operational and human resources to ensure competitive standing in industry environment and allow continuous improvement in all aspects of business. Grew business operations from 12 staff to 210 staff (against plan) achieving a full operational turnaround and quickly growing turnover from $8,000 per month to +$1million per month and also led the implementation of a Certified industrial agreement and EBA awards.

JR Engineering Services Pty Ltd (Roche Mining Process Engineering/Downer) OPERATIONS / AREA MANAGER / SA 1993 to 2004  JR Engineering Services Pty Ltd were a major part of the Olympic Dam operations, responsible for the electrical, underground fleet and ore handling maintainence contract for WMC, the project division complemented the maintence contract and also executed project and maintainence work in the process plant and surface and underground mine operation  Provided leadership and direction for projects through Tender, bid, execute and commissioning of up to $8million include a complex USX Settler & Tank Area Rebuild, Concentrator Mechanical Upgrade and a Refinery extension.  Budget management of projects including the sourcing and selection of materials, tendering works for subcontractors, awards of sub contractor work packages and scheduling and planning of work.  Managed the tendered and procurement of cranes, fleet and machinery and workshop equipments etc.  Implemented Safety Management Systems to achieve SABS 3 accreditation.  Grew staff numbers from 20 to 270, providing leadership and direction to a skilled and unskilled workforce across Construction Managers, Supervisors, Engineering, Safety and support staff - trades and non trades.  Turnover ranging from 20 to 80mil pa.
