Spay and Neuter Kansas City (SNKC) cordially welcomes you as a
volunteer and partner in support of our mission, our success, and our future. We focus on the needs
of our clients and our community, and we do whatever it takes. In order to ensure you have a positive and
mutually beneficial experience, we ask that you please adhere to the following:
This Code of Conduct does not replace the Code of Conduct of the Join the Movement Program or the Agency. All enlisted
Company and Volunteer policies and procedures are still applicable and will be reinforced.
Personal Responsibilities
Sign in and out in the volunteer check-in station, and track your volunteer hours on Volgistics.
Wear a volunteer name badge while performing volunteer duties in our clinic or at work-site
Keep all client, volunteer, employee, and agency information confidential
Retain an active email address and active/updated Volgistics account for the duration of your involvement
with Spay and Neuter Kansas City
You are expected to carry your own insurance coverage. You are expected to assume any and all risk of
injury, illness, death, or damage resulting in your activities as a volunteer of SNKC. You are expected to
take full responsibility of your welfare, and your safety.
Guidelines
All volunteer assignments must be approved by the Volunteer Coordinator and/or SNKC Staff
Volunteers are to follow all volunteer assignment guidelines and deadlines. In the event the volunteer needs
a project extension, the volunteer must address this issue with the Staff Contact or Volunteer Coordinator.
Avoid giving and/or receiving gifts to or from a supplier, government official, employee, donor, or other
organization.
Treat all volunteers, employees, clients, and pets, with respect, with kindness, and as individuals.
Do not make negative comments to others about SNKC, employees, clients, or other volunteers and follow
general “netiquette”
Volunteers may not act as a representative of the Spay and Neuter Kansas City organization
Be professional and appropriate when discussing agency information in the presence of clients
Exhibit nondiscriminatory and nonjudgmental behavior supportive of all groups, and exhibit the highest
standard of ethical conduct and fair dealing with each employee, officer, director, volunteer, and all others
associated with the Company.
Conduct all activities in compliance with the letter and the spirit of all laws and regulations, and the spirit of
all program and agency policies and procedures
You may grant Spay and Neuter Kansas City the rights to all photographic images, video, and audio
recordings made of you during your work as a volunteer
All content developed by any volunteer during their participation in volunteerism through Spay and Neuter
Kansas City, is the property of the agency
Safety
Volunteers may not use profanity or exhibit displays of or threats of violence. Weapons are not allowed on
premise or at work-site.
Volunteers may not use, be in the possession of, or be under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol while
performing volunteer duties.
Volunteers may not attempt to influence or persuade clients, employees, or other volunteers on religious or
political matters.
Volunteers may not give medical, training, or any other type of advice to SNKC clients without authorization
Volunteers under the age of 18 may not have any contact with any animal
