Now a days there are many social networking websites available on the Internet
but today we are going to discuss a few of them, they are:-

4. 1. YouTube, a video sharing website was created by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen,
and Jawed Karim in 2005.
2. Its a home for various type of artists and creators, some of them are
Vloggers, Viner's, Standup Comedians, Motivational speakers and
infamous Celebrities.
3. Helps students in the field of education in free of cost.
4. It is the best innovation that this modern generation can have
which has a lot of variety contents in it.

ADVANTAGES:
• It’s a wide platform for many
creators, artists and social
influencers.
DISADVANTAGES:
• It’s a type of addictive for some
viewers.
• Some videos are so harmful
that it has an adverse effect
upon the audience.
• The Click bait videos are the
main cause of the wasting time.

6. 1. WhatsApp was founded in 2009 by Brain Acton & Jan Koum.
2. An interesting fact about WhatsApp is that 320 engineers work in the
company shift wise and they are responsible for 14 million active
users.
3. A Group formation in the app simplifies all our works like document
sharing, project discussion, planning etc.
4. The new update gives us a feature of video calling with our friends
and family members.

DISADVANTAGES:
• It is very addictive.
• The photo quality decreases
eventually as we pass it on to
others.

8. 1. An American online social media was launched on February 4,2004 by
Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates at the Kirkland hostels in Harvard
university.
2. This was the first popular social networking site, which comprise of many
things and ideas in only one website that the people can use . We can do
everything which we want may it be sharing of photos, ideas,
announcements, events etc.
3. In the recent times Facebook is helping us in all ways, the example of the
Call for Blood Donation which required the users to enter their blood
groups and they will be notified that when there is a need of blood.

• It is one of the most secured
and advanced website in
internet.

DISADVANTAGES:

10. • LinkedIn is a business and employment oriented service, founded on December 28,
2002 by Reid Hoffman.
• LinkedIn allows members to create connections to each other in an online social
network which may represent real-world professional relationship.
• Now a days this site is used by most of the fresher to apply for a job and on the other
hand the companies are hiring their employees on the basis of their profile.
• We can say it’s a type of helping hand for the Entrepreneurs to hire some people and get
their work done. Especially the freelancers are getting new opportunities from it.

11. ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES
ADVANTAGES:
• It gives Job email alerts.
• It helps us to connect with
the with the professionals.
• It lets the students to get in
touch with other students.
DISADVANTAGES:
• The breaches in the privacy.
• There is a huge time
investment on this site as the
user has to update each and
every details of them in their
profile.
• Other points are there but
negligible.

12. • A mobile, desktop and internet based multimedia sharing
app launched in October 6, 2010 by Kevin and Mike.
• Later the Facebook took over the concept and idea and made it
one of the leading social network.
• In January 2011, Instagram introduced hashtags to help users
discover both photos and each other.
• It gives a platform to people to share some information, their
creativity skills, their travelling moments, the best moments of
life and sometimes people also discuss their problems to get
good suggestions from friends.
• The live example experienced in Instagram.

13. 1. Snapchat, an android and iOS app, founded by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy an
Reggie Brown the former students of Stanford University.
2. The principle concept of this app is that pictures and messages are only available
for a short time before they become inaccessible.
3. It was really so embarrassing moment when the CEO of a reputed company gave
the statement last year that “This app is only for rich people and we don’t want to
expand into poor countries like India and Spain”. “Shares Fell by 1.5%”
4. The photos can be shared frequently in very less time.
5. It visually promotes different brands and other business ideas.

operating systems except
android and iOS.

15. 1. Pinterest is a mobile application company, founded in 2011 by Ben
SilberMann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp.
2. Contents can also be found out of Pinterest and similarly can be
uploaded to a board via the “Pin It” button.
3. The key fact about this app is that it collects the data from everywhere
in the internet and displays it at one place. It is time consuming for the
students.

surfing app.

• Its not a proper social
networking site.
• Its not secured as compared to
other social networks.
• Its information is limited only
up to the images nothing else.

17. • A Social networking site in addition it also has online news
update facility, it was launched on March 2006 by Jack
Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams.
• It’s the most creative and innovative idea that one can have,
that’s what we call innovation.
• The concept was so simple “Steroid Blogging” .
• Sharing of Ideas was not the only bound.
• Problems that were solved just by Tweeting the in charge of the
particular area.
