2. Remedies for Coronaviral Infection
Till now there is no effective treatment for
coronavirus. So many people are coming forward
with their creative ideas to prevent the growth of
this virus.
I have summarize some of the creative ideas and
remedies available online and tried to assemble
them in this presentation.
Please give your valuable suggestions and feedback.

Consumption of NEEM along with TURMERIC and
PEPPER can be used as a prevention of the virus. As neem
and turmeric were used in the treatment of some viral diseases,
why not this herbs be used to atleast prevent corona.
Neem medicinal properties: ANTIVIRAL PROPERTY, ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTY, ANTI
PARASITIC, ANTI INFLAMMATORY, ANTICARCINOGENIC, ANTI OXIDANT, ANTI
FUNGAL,IMMUNE UPREGULATION, WOUND HEALING EFFECT,
HEPATOPROTECTIVE EFFECT.
4. 'Intalfa
'Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited'
Human body have natural antiviral agent called Interferon. When virus infect a cell then that
virus infected cell will release interferon causing nearby cells to heighten their anti-viral
defenses and this interferon will interfere with viral replication by protecting cells from virus
infections. Interferon also activate the immune cells, such as natural killer cells and macrophages.
My concern is that if we enhance the interferon in the body by medicine I think it will protect the
other cells from virus infection . I do not know it will work or not . This idea came to my mind
so I liked to share. I found one chemical called 'Recombinant interferon alpha 2b', brand name
'Intalfa' manufactured by 'Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited' . This medication is used to treat
various cancers (e.g., leukemia, melanoma, AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma). It is also used to
treat virus infections (e.g., chronic hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis C, Condylomata acuminata).
This medication is the same as a protein that our body naturally produces (interferon). In the
body, it is thought to work by affecting cell function/growth and the body's natural defenses
(immune system) in many ways. Adding more interferon may help our body fight off cancer or
virus infections.

1. DRACO (Double-stranded RNA
Activated Caspase Oligomerizer ).
• MIT developed this drug in 2011
against the flu which further tested by
Dr. Rider for multiple viruses and
found very useful.
2. Sodium sulphide (a component of
black salt) or Calcium sulphide,
Hydrogen sulphide (salt form of this
can be metabolised in the human body
and will release hydrogen sulphide at
the cell level).
3. POLYPHENOLS and Theaflavin-3,3'-
digallate (TF3) which is available in
black tea, green tea and other tea
plants.
6. • A Siddha medicine called “Arut Sivam” come from the tradition of
saints Arutprakasa Vallalar Chidambaram Ramalingam (born 5
October 1823) well appreciated during Dengue infections past
years. “Arut Sivam” is an herbal siddha medicine made using well
known herbs like Nilavembu, Sukku, Milagu, Thippili etc.
• This one single traditional herbal medicine works well on all
viral infections.
• One pinch of “ArutSivam” medicine oral administration to infected
patient will provide miracle outcome in an hour.
• This medicine can be tested for COVID 19 or the medicine can be
easily modified to fight CoV. This lab test article review published
in the “EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF PHARMACEUTICAL AND
MEDICAL RESEARCH”

7. Chinese medicine treatment
Radix Scutellariae Flos Lonicerae Japonicae
Shuang-Huang-Lian oral liquid (SHL) is a well-known Chinese patent
drug containing three herbal medicines: Radix Scutellariae, Flos Lonicerae Japonicae and
Fructus Forsythiae.
It played an important role in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Fructus Forsythiae
Previous studies have proved that baicalin, chlorogenic acid and forsythin in Shuanghuanglian oral liquid have certain
inhibitory effects on a variety of viruses and bacteria
8. Immuno-enhancement therapy
• Synthetic recombinant Interferon α has proven to
be effective in treatment of SARS patients in
clinic trials.
• Interferon was also found to be an effective
inhibitor of MERS-CoV replication.
• Those findings suggested that interferon could be
used in the treatment of COVID-19.
• Thymosin alpha-1 (Ta1): Synthetic hormone of
thymosine
– Thymosine secreted by thymus.
– Modulate innate immunity.
9. Convalescent plasma therapy

Coronaviral infection

Have antibodies against coronavirus

10. Auxiliary blood purification treatment
• ACE2, the key receptor of SARS-CoV-2, is highly expressed in human
kidney (nearly 100 times higher than that in lung).
• Kidney might be main target of attack for novel coronavirus.
• Blood purification treatment could reduce renal workload and help to
promote the recovery of renal function.

Acid-Base imbalance

11. Western medicine treatment
1. Hydroxychloroquine (Malarial Medication)
2. Remdesivir (Ebola and Marburg viral medication)
3. Lopinavir-Ritonavir (Anti-HIV medication)
4. Interferon-beta (Regulating inflammation)
5. Corticosteroids and Baricitinib (Rheumatoid
Arthritis medication)
12. Malaria medication
Drugs: Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine
(Basic drugs)
• Most of the cellular organelle (endosome, ER) in cells work
in slightly acidic environment.
• These organelles are used by viruses for their replication.
Chloroquine Reduces acidity Reduces enzymes
Functions in organelle
Reduces/inhibiting
viral replication
13. Western medicine treatment
• Hydroxychloroquine might actually do more
harm than good.
• It has many side effects and can, in rare cases,
harm the heart—and people with heart
conditions are at higher risk of severe COVID-
19, says David Smith, an infectious disease
physician at the University of California, San
Diego.
14. Western medicine treatment
• Remdesivir (Antiviral)
• Was developed for the treatment of Ebola virus
disease and Marburg virus infections.
• Shuts down viral replication by inhibiting a
key viral enzyme, the RNA polymerase.
• “Remdesivir has the best potential,” says
Shibo Jiang of Fudan University, who works
on coronavirus therapeutics.
• Clinical trials are going on.
15. Western medicine treatment
• Lopinavir-Ritonavir combination
• Drugs to inhibit the protease of HIV, an
enzyme that cleaves a long protein chain
during assembly of new viruses.
• But no significant outcomes till now for
coronavirus. Trials are going on.
16. Western medicine treatment
• lopinavir-ritonavir combination +
interferon-beta (a molecule involved in
regulating inflammation that has lessened
disease severity)
• But interferon-beta might be risky for patients
with severe COVID-19, Herold says. “If it is
given late in the disease it could easily lead to
worse tissue damage, instead of helping
patients,” she cautions.
17. Western medicine treatment
• Corticosteroids and Baricitinib (drugs that
can reduce inflammation)
• Used for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
• Camostat mesylate (inhibits a human protein
involved with infection)
18. Other Preventive measures
• Vitamin C supplementation (prevent the
susceptibility of lower respiratory tract
infection).
• Supplementation of Vitamin D and Vitamin E
may enhance our resistance to SARS-CoV-2.
• Taking protective measures can effectively
prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection, including
improving personal hygiene, wearing medical
masks, adequate rest and good ventilation.
