• This product is a YouTube video that is completely audio. A man is reading out a creepy pasta, which is a
scary story from a website like Reditt, Tumblr or originally, Creepypasta.com
• This type of video is targeted towards teenagers [15 – 25]
• For this not to be plagiarism, the narrator had to specify who wrote the story and where he found the
story.
• It is for people who enjoy horror and perhaps find it more creepy hearing the stories from these websites
being read aloud and brought to life instead of just reading it on the internet.
• The story is told from a first person point of view, which makes the listener feel it all could of really
happened and makes them feel more invested in the story.
• The man reads out the story in a very low, deep voice and speaks the words slowly to add to the creepy
ambiance and to draw the listeners into the story. Plus as he speaks this way, the words are a lot more
clearer and easier to understand.
• He pauses between certain words and phrases to create suspense and leave the audience wanting more.
• There is music playing in the back ground that is soft but eerie, and it rises in volume whenever there is a
pause in the speech to startle the audience.

• This video is a collection of three short horror told by the same narrator in one video.
• Target audience: Teenagers (15 – 25)
• The audience may like the three stories as it adds variety to the videos, and since they are all quite short
and snappy it is sure to grab and keep their attention.
• Between every story there is a pause and the music changes slightly, so it is clear where one story starts
and the other begins. It would make it more clear if the author read aloud the name of the story before he
starts instead of displaying it on screen, as the video is mostly audio and listeners might not always be
looking at the screen.
• In the first video, the narrator sounded like he had a filter over his voice. This made him sound much more
eerie, as the story was about him going under sedation and it sounded a little bit muffled and
disorientated, which would be like the character was hearing.
• The narrator pauses dramatically to create suspense right before the big cliff hanger or the finale, which
makes the big reveal a lot more tense and exiting for the narrator.
• This video is for people who enjoy hearing creepy stories and like to feel afraid and on edge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV8yTQXB1qM
Existing Products
• This is a creepy pasta reading of ‘Candle Cove,’ read by three different narrators.
• The age range for this product would be teenagers (15 – 25) because the content is a little graphic and
may make anyone younger feel uncomfortable and may not have the eerie affect on anyone who is older
because their too mature.
• The story is read out like it was written on a reddit forum, each character having a username to
differentiate who is speaking. This set up is very interesting and a unique way to tell a story – this was it is
easier to convey the story of three separate people in an easy, natural and modern way.
• As the product is a reading of a reddit forum, whilst the people are talking, the narrator or editor has
added in the sound of computer keys tapping along as they speak - as if the people are typing their story
as it’s been read aloud. This adds to the authenticity of story and really helps the reader understand that
this was posted on the internet.
• The three different narrators shared between the three different characters really help immerse the
listeners into the story and hello decipher which characters are speaking – as this may be hard with only
audio.
• The narrators are very emotive when talking for their characters. It makes you feel like this experience is
real and that this text conversation had really happened.
• Very quiet and soft music jingles in the back, it can only be heard when nobody is speaking or typing,
keeping the earie ambiance flowing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN0vSIBnUNo
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– All of the products were posted on YouTube. The product is only audio, but YouTube is more likely to
get more hits the podcast apps and way more known and popular, so this is why the narrators
probably published it here.
– In all of the videos creepy and unsettling music plays in the background, this is probably to add to the
scary theme of the story.
– All of the stories are for a target audience of 15 – 25. This is the prime age to listen to horror stories
because scary thing can still be new and exiting. If you’re younger it may just scare you and make
expose you to thought you don’t need to be thinking, and if you’re older the thrill weakens and you
may be a little too mature.
– The narrators in the story are all very emotive and use long pauses in speech to create suspense for
the audience.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on
work?
– I will add creep and unsettling music in the background of my story to create a flow and to keep the
audio satisfying for the audience.
– I will make sure the narrator is emotive and speaks in a clear way the create suspense and fear when
the listeners hear him.
– I will add sound affects into the audio to make it sound more realistic and add to the immersion of
the story.
Audience
Audience Profile
Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience
Age Range
Teenagers
15 - 25
• My product will appeal to teenagers because they are the right age
range to find this type of content (horror) still exiting and creepy. If
the audience was younger they may be scared and uncomfortable.
If the audience was older they may be too mature for this content.
Gender
Male and Female • My product is not directed to any particular gender as horror can
appeal to anyone. Although gore and scary things are usually aims
towards boys, a very very large part of the creepy pasta community
is woman writers and narrators.
Psychographic
Socially conscious type
A, type B, balanced and
needs driven.
• I picked these psychographics because Socially Conscious type A
and the balanced people are more likely to care and empathize
with the story. Type B and needs driven people will like the thrill of
reading a horror story.
Social Status
Middle class, working
class.
• People who are in the lower class may not be able to have access
to the technology needed to listen to the product. Higher class
may see it as too low brow for them.

  • 2. Existing Products • This product is a YouTube video that is completely audio. A man is reading out a creepy pasta, which is a scary story from a website like Reditt, Tumblr or originally, Creepypasta.com • This type of video is targeted towards teenagers [15 – 25] • For this not to be plagiarism, the narrator had to specify who wrote the story and where he found the story. • It is for people who enjoy horror and perhaps find it more creepy hearing the stories from these websites being read aloud and brought to life instead of just reading it on the internet. • The story is told from a first person point of view, which makes the listener feel it all could of really happened and makes them feel more invested in the story. • The man reads out the story in a very low, deep voice and speaks the words slowly to add to the creepy ambiance and to draw the listeners into the story. Plus as he speaks this way, the words are a lot more clearer and easier to understand. • He pauses between certain words and phrases to create suspense and leave the audience wanting more. • There is music playing in the back ground that is soft but eerie, and it rises in volume whenever there is a pause in the speech to startle the audience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjb9yRZHsoU
  • 3. Existing Products • This video is a collection of three short horror told by the same narrator in one video. • Target audience: Teenagers (15 – 25) • The audience may like the three stories as it adds variety to the videos, and since they are all quite short and snappy it is sure to grab and keep their attention. • Between every story there is a pause and the music changes slightly, so it is clear where one story starts and the other begins. It would make it more clear if the author read aloud the name of the story before he starts instead of displaying it on screen, as the video is mostly audio and listeners might not always be looking at the screen. • In the first video, the narrator sounded like he had a filter over his voice. This made him sound much more eerie, as the story was about him going under sedation and it sounded a little bit muffled and disorientated, which would be like the character was hearing. • The narrator pauses dramatically to create suspense right before the big cliff hanger or the finale, which makes the big reveal a lot more tense and exiting for the narrator. • This video is for people who enjoy hearing creepy stories and like to feel afraid and on edge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV8yTQXB1qM
  • 4. Existing Products • This is a creepy pasta reading of ‘Candle Cove,’ read by three different narrators. • The age range for this product would be teenagers (15 – 25) because the content is a little graphic and may make anyone younger feel uncomfortable and may not have the eerie affect on anyone who is older because their too mature. • The story is read out like it was written on a reddit forum, each character having a username to differentiate who is speaking. This set up is very interesting and a unique way to tell a story – this was it is easier to convey the story of three separate people in an easy, natural and modern way. • As the product is a reading of a reddit forum, whilst the people are talking, the narrator or editor has added in the sound of computer keys tapping along as they speak - as if the people are typing their story as it’s been read aloud. This adds to the authenticity of story and really helps the reader understand that this was posted on the internet. • The three different narrators shared between the three different characters really help immerse the listeners into the story and hello decipher which characters are speaking – as this may be hard with only audio. • The narrators are very emotive when talking for their characters. It makes you feel like this experience is real and that this text conversation had really happened. • Very quiet and soft music jingles in the back, it can only be heard when nobody is speaking or typing, keeping the earie ambiance flowing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN0vSIBnUNo
  • 5. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? – All of the products were posted on YouTube. The product is only audio, but YouTube is more likely to get more hits the podcast apps and way more known and popular, so this is why the narrators probably published it here. – In all of the videos creepy and unsettling music plays in the background, this is probably to add to the scary theme of the story. – All of the stories are for a target audience of 15 – 25. This is the prime age to listen to horror stories because scary thing can still be new and exiting. If you’re younger it may just scare you and make expose you to thought you don’t need to be thinking, and if you’re older the thrill weakens and you may be a little too mature. – The narrators in the story are all very emotive and use long pauses in speech to create suspense for the audience. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? – I will add creep and unsettling music in the background of my story to create a flow and to keep the audio satisfying for the audience. – I will make sure the narrator is emotive and speaks in a clear way the create suspense and fear when the listeners hear him. – I will add sound affects into the audio to make it sound more realistic and add to the immersion of the story.
  • 7. Audience Profile Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience Age Range Teenagers 15 - 25 • My product will appeal to teenagers because they are the right age range to find this type of content (horror) still exiting and creepy. If the audience was younger they may be scared and uncomfortable. If the audience was older they may be too mature for this content. Gender Male and Female • My product is not directed to any particular gender as horror can appeal to anyone. Although gore and scary things are usually aims towards boys, a very very large part of the creepy pasta community is woman writers and narrators. Psychographic Socially conscious type A, type B, balanced and needs driven. • I picked these psychographics because Socially Conscious type A and the balanced people are more likely to care and empathize with the story. Type B and needs driven people will like the thrill of reading a horror story. Social Status Middle class, working class. • People who are in the lower class may not be able to have access to the technology needed to listen to the product. Higher class may see it as too low brow for them.
