Career Summary/Profile
I am an experienced Quality Manager, with a strong aerospace background. My quality management
experience has been gained within both ferrous and composite manufacture. I am a Lead Auditor and have
held the post of Transnational Quality Audit Manager. I have extensive experience of Aerospace Regulatory
Requirements e.g. EASA 21G / 145, NACAP Special Process Qualification, AS/EN 9100 and First Article
Inspection Requirements. I have supported Critical Design Reviews and Flight Certification. I have been a
retained Quality Consultant to Airbus, Boeing and Spirit Aerostructures. I have a good working knowledge
of GRESS and GRAMS and all areas of Airbus procurement. I have undertaken all aspects of Supplier
Approval, Tender and Bid Analysis and Make versus Buy Projects. I am looking for a challenging role at
either Group Quality Manager or Quality Director level. My various quality roles have provided a fairly

2014 – To date UK Quality Manager – LINPAC Packaging UK – Wakefield UK
LINPAC Packaging is a producer of both EPS expanded foam and PET rigid plastic, food grade packaging
and trays. Predominately utilising recycled bottle flake from various suppliers around the world. Production in
the UK is based in Warfield and St Helens. On site capabilities include both extrusion and thermoforming.
Responsibilities:
 Leading a team of 5 direct reports 20 indirect reports.
 Strategic and Tactical planning of quality activities for both production facilities.
 Managing a centre of excellence for materials testing including Gas chromatography–mass
spectrometry (GCMS) and Solvent Extraction.
 BRC Certification / Accreditation. HACCP Certification / Accreditation.ISO 9001 Certification. EFSA
Compliance.
 Supplier Approval Certification and Development.

 Mentoring of European Quality Managers.
Achievements:
 Year on year reduction of non-conformances received from customers.
 Extension of ISO accreditation scope to included in-house design and development activities.
 Introduction of formal Contract / Design Review which includes cross functional teams.
 Project managed significant expansion of laboratory testing capability to include Solvent Extraction in
GCMS.
 2015 Full ISO 9001 recertification was accomplished at both factories with zero new finding issued.

2014 – 2014 Quality Management Consultant - Airbus Central Entity – Toulouse France
Working through Aerospace PM Partner, I was seconded to EN ISO Certification team based in Toulouse.
Responsibilities:
 Providing quality training for Process Owners and Process Quality Managers.
Achievements:
 The 2014 EN 9100 recertification programme was achieved with the lowest ever number of Non-
conformances.

2012 - 2014 Night Shift Quality Manager – Airbus UK Broughton
This was a senior management position reporting directly to the Head of Plant Quality UK. Holding total night
shift quality responsibility for wing production across three separate factories and five separate wing
platforms. Whilst in this role I spent a considerable amount of time on day shift activities, as described in
Achievements.
Responsibilities:
 Leading a team of 12 direct reports and 50 indirect reports.
 Strategic and Tactical Quality Planning for all night shift activities.
 Championing Change Management Activities.
 Reducing Cost of Non-quality.
 Management of First Article (FAI) for introduction of Single Aisle NEO
 Supplier Development
Achievements:
 Supporting A350 Creation of a Composite Repair Facility. Advised on the creation of a sub-ambient
storage area in line with NADCAP / NUCAP requirements.
 Conducted Make Vs Buy investigation for Single Aisle and Twin Aisle Paint Shops.
 Conducted suppler approval Audits on failing suppliers, then provided support in addressing issues
arising from the Audit.
 Project Managed the FAI activities for the A320 NEO wing from billet machining through to jig build
and equipping.
 Supported EASA Certification on both day and night shift.
 Reduced the Cost of Non-quality across all platforms.
 Achieved an excellent relationship with Production Managers through engagement and stakeholder

2010 To 2012 Quality Audit Manager Procurement – Airbus Central Entity – Toulouse France
This was a Trans-National role, based within Airbus Central Entity spanning all Airbus sites and across all
commodities.

 Strategic planning of annual Audit programme based on risk.

 Acting as Lead Auditor for non procurement audits in design and production
Achievement:
 Achieved a significant reduction in open Non-conformances through Stakeholder Management and
Engagement. This often required significant Change Management.
 Achieved a fifty percent reduction in No-conformances received during the EN9100 Recertification.
 Undertook extensive change management activities with the Supplier Networks providing
documentation and authorship services.

Brookhouse are part of the KAMAN group, and a world leader in Aerospace Structural Composites. Clients

 Conducted a number of highly sensitive “Whistle Blower Investigations.” These findings were
presented both to the CAA and Airbus UK senior management team.
2000 – 2004 Owner Manager – The Country Larder – Town Square Shopping Centre Oldham
The Country Larder employed 30 staff and had a turnover of £1 million. I was responsible for purchasing,
work planning, staff training, Advertising / Marketing, Health and Safety and Environmental Compliance.
During this period, I also held the chair of the Town Square Shopping Centres Tenants Association.
1998 – 2000 Project Manager - Quality Auditor – Morson International – Manchester
Head Hunted by Morson International to facilitate the transfer of a project from Rolls Royce Nuclear to
Morson International.
Responsibilities:
 I spent six months auditing suppliers at various power stations in Scotland and England.
Achievements:
 instigated an Audit Schedule for suppliers based on risk and previous audit findings. Audits were
conducted in accordance with ISO, UKAEA and BNFL Standards.
1990 – 1998 Quality Manager – Hartley Services – Manchester
Hartley Services was a recruitment consultancy with a turnover in excess of £ 3 Million per annum.

Achievements:
 Hartley Services held the distinction of being one of the first agencies in the UK to achieve
accreditation in 1992.
 North West Chairman of “The British Standards Society” the BSS is the members’ division of the
British Standards Institute. On behalf of the BSSI, I presented a number of workshops covering the
implementation of BS5750.

Sabre Safety were a Prime Supplier to the Ministry of Defence produced high integrity breathing equipment
