1. TO REUNITE WITH GOD
Allan Lloyd M. Martinez
Nobody is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes but some of it will teach you great lessons
and make you a better person.
As the Bible verse from Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned and come short of the
glory of God.” It simply means that the moment you are born on earth, sin already existed in our
life. Recalling the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden found in Genesis 2:4 to Genesis
3:24, the moment that they ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, the relationship between
humanity and God were put into separation, causing the people in the next generations to
experience suffering. From that incident, this is where sin existed even in the ancient times.
Sin simply refers to an immoral act that is considered to be a transgression against the
divine law. It also refers to an act that we fall short of something. It simply means that when a
person commits sin, it violates the divine law found in the Bible. In simpler terms, sin is an act that
is unfavorable or unacceptable to God and it can be done in different means whether it could be
a verbal or non-verbal manner.
Nobody is born without sin. Our relationship with God is like an unfinished bridge, it is
separated or disconnecting to each other. When we are still unbelievers, we do not recognize
God yet. With this, we can easily commit acts that are unfavorable not only to the sight of society
but above all, to God. Making lies or false accusations, deceiving people around you or cheating
could be easier for an unbeliever to commit.
The Lord Jesus said “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the
servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever” (John
8:34-35). Given with the aforementioned Bible verse, it is clear that whosoever often commits sin
cannot enter the kingdom of God. Instead, you will be redirected to the path that nobody wishes
to go, the lake of fire or simply known as hell.
It is not too late to change. Martin Luther once said that the recognition of sin is the
beginning of salvation. You cannot save yourself from sin but instead, God sent His Son, Jesus
Christ on earth to die on the cross and save humanity from it. The opportunity is here in front of
you and all you need to do is to believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and
thereby, you will be saved from sin and the assurance of going to the kingdom of God when you
die is 100% since your name is already written in the book of life.
The moment that you are saved from sin by believing and accepting Christ as Saviour,
our relationship with God is connected again therefore you are one of God’s children. This means
that you are no longer a lost sheep and you are forgiven already. God doesn’t want people to live
in sin because Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life
through Christ Jesus our Lord”. At the end, we people will appear before the judgment seat of
Christ, quoted from 2 Corinthians 5:10.
Life on earth is just temporary therefore we should not waste every opportunity that is
given to us. Use the opportunity to depart from sinful acts and establish a new life by believing
and accepting Christ as your Saviour so that you will be saved. Given the modern world that we
live in and with the current pandemic that we face, let’s utilize social media (Facebook, Twitter
and Instagram) in building platforms to reach out to people to accept the call of reuniting with God
by believing and accepting Christ so that all individuals will be saved from sin.
The choice is yours. Dare to live a life with Christ and you will live in Paradise.
