League of legends
League of legends
Colours
It has a dusty coloured background to fit with the mystical feel of the universe and has red and blue neon colours
to represent the two different sides of the map which is blue against red. The red can show how there is power
Within all the champions and that the blue are cold at heart and are a slippery bunch to get past.
Props
They have a large variety of props representing each character and their skills in the lane.
Additionally, it symbolizes what each type of lane would have in their arsenal.
Costume
The variety of costumes provide a different perception of how the game can feel.
As well it provides a solution for every player and there preferred colours or types of costume
Location
It’s set in a fantasy world to fit with the characters inside the game and where there lore is based,
this creates a more dynamic reality.
Lighting
The sun in the background reflects on kayles wings and on the other champions weapons making them stand out
in the crowd. This also makes them look more powerful since light is able to conquer any type of darkness.
Framing
Shows all the characters in the poster and how they are a united league. The focus point is centered whilst
additionally, the poster is symmetrical, on each side there’s a champ in the air and on each side there is one wing
of Kayles
Actor/model
Models are unique and all stand out from one another. Kayle (The middle champ with wings) is positioned quite
Religiously since she’s above everyone else with wings spread out like a guardian angel.
Hellsing
Hellsing
Colours
It’s a dark background with the moon light casting a ray upon Alucard. This fits with Alucards dark theme and the evil
That is within him. Additionally, there is fire below him which could represent villagers or an army which has come
together to destroy his evil that’s spreading across the lands
Props
He’s holding his signature Hellsing ARMS .454 Casull Auto and his Long sword which shows his age
Costume
Alucard is wearing a unique outfit since it’s a mixture. The left side is his medieval side, and his younger self. Whilst the
Right side is his current look and his older self. The red of his cloak could represent the death he brings or as quoted
“so you can’t see any stained blood”.
Location
Instead of knowing his location the background speaks for the picture. The largely black background linked with the
light is creating a ambiance with the ghostly moon light creeping over his shoulder.
Lighting
The lighting is created from the moons rays and from the fire below Alucard. These two together makes he sense that
he’s alone in the world and the only thing keeping him company is the light of the moon.
Framing
Alucard is the main focus point with different scenes in every corner of him. Below him there is a pile of bodies,
presumed to be his victims, to his left there’s his dog form called Baskerville and to the right some bats a known
vampire symbol and a less aggressive form of Baskerville
Actor/Model
His body shape is in a defensive stance, signifying his high alert attitude. As well his armour represents his personality
The
Kingsman
The Kingsman
Colour
They a black background so that all the silver and gold used in the logo can easily be recognized. The
colours are also very matured and not bright and colour full, fitting in with the gentlemen style of
Kingsman.
Props
There’re a variety of props used in the image which include a plane and a cargo. Furthermore, each character has there own
prop like pistols and an M416, the blade feet also can be seen as a prop since she’s not originally born with them.
Costume
There’s a massive variety of clothes the original agents are all wearing formal suits and stylish, the villains are wearing casual
Clothing, finally, eggsy is from a rough background so Is wearing quite chavy
Location
The background of the logo has the different locations that the film is set in and builds a small piece of knowledge for the
audience so they can have a visual reference of the location built up.
Lighting
The buildings in the background are the main source of lighting for the image which shines behind the characters giving
them a strong outline. The secondary lighting is the small explosions happening on the bottom of the logo which give a
yellow tin to the main lighting and create a gold essence which then links to the silver gold theme.
Framing
The main center point is agent Galahad the man who got eggsy into the job. As well the picture guides you around the
circle. Finally, the circle could foreshadow the future film which is now known as the golden circle.
Actor/model
The reason that Galahad known as Colin Firth is in the center is that he’s not the main character but is the most popular
actor and also the equal between the two audiences, primary and secondary.
Soundtrack
• Clip 1
– The First Sounds track is a quite sadistic with
the eerie high pitch noise which creates a
morbid atmosphere.
– This suggests that something out of the blue is
going to happen and the characters aren’t
ready for it.
• Clip 2
– It makes you feel delighted for the characters
since you feel like they have accomplished
what they are trying to do. Since it sets a
friendly safe atmosphere where nothing could
go wrong. This suggest the characters will
complete what they’re trying to do. Without a
problem.
Shining
• Firstly, they use the correct scenes from the film to create a more positive
atmosphere. They have also included a more tranquil background track to give it a
safer more acceptable condition.
Scary Mary
• They use a mixture of sudden camera angle changes and close ups of certain
characters create tension and starts forming the classic horror setting. Additionally,
the music is used to convey the message that nothing is what it seems and nothing
can be trusted. As well, it builds the character to the audience to make them
understand the situation that the children are in.
Stereotypes
Men
• Good at handy work and physical
labour. In media we have loads of
different machinery to create a
combination of camera angles and
physics aspects like rain and wind. This
even though no massive amount of
manual labour needed is mostly filled
by men.
Women
• Stronger with writing and organisation
skills. With the introduction of the
internet it’s easier to create
documented work and to organise
files. Even though this is the fact
typically, women are the ones to do
this.
Stereotypes
Upper Class
• Look down on everyone who don’t
have the same views and money as
them. Generally have better clothes,
houses, and cars.
Working Class
• Down to earth so have a better view
of their surroundings and have the
improved response to most answers
unlike the upper class who live inside
a bubble.
Stereotypes
Old People
• Prefer to take life slowly making sure
they don’t miss anything on the way.
Furthermore, old people tend to try
and give advice to the younger
generation with no hope of breaking
the advice into their heads. Known to
have the wisest choice in the matter
Young People
• Always doing crazy thing and never
thinking about the future outcome for
them selves. Also, thought to never
stop moving and always wanting
something to do to pass the time.
Iconography- Western
• Some things I would expect to see for a western include revolvers and shotguns
which are iconic sheriff and cowboy weapons used in westerns.
• Another item is the cowboy hat which every male wears in westerns and have
become the centre point for any western to date.
• Further items involve spurs used to increase the speed a horse would go, and
things like the classic sheriff badge.
• Saloons and prisons are a classic building in westerns with the bank put in there
for plot.
• Furthermore, you would normally have the classic mountain range to provide for
the desolate town effect onto the viewers
Iconography- Sci-Fi
• Iconic things you would see in a sci-fi would be improved technology or a space
ship. These are used to make the viewer feel like there's a way everything could be
created and many sci-fi’ has inspired many people.
• More things you would expect but not always see would be an extra-terrestrial or
something unknown to humanity. Which creates suspense since you don’t know
anything about the implemented alien but can change in the story how we feel
about them.
• You also expect to go into space when watching a sci-fi since it’s all around the
reaches of space and what comes from out there.
• Additionally, you would also discover some form off unknown power which needs
to either be stopped or put into the right hands
Iconography- Fantasy
• Firstly, you could expect to see some form of creature which can be bad or good
but somehow will get to the audiences hearts.
• Furthermore, you would have some type of race that is used as the main
population within in the plot of any story line of fantasy
• You can also see a lot of mythical powers within fantasy that would normally make
no sense in other genres
• The world would be anything in a dream like heaven or even a lost paradise.
• Additionally, tough it’s not all nice since you can see demons, dragons, orcs, and
fallen angels.
• Generally though a fantasy always will have a certain evil race or monster
Narrative
• Narrative Definition
– A spoken or written account of connected events or story.
• Linear Narrative Definition
– Present stories in a logical manner by telling what happens
from one point to the next without using flashback/flash-
forwards.
• Linear Narrative Film Example
– The dark knight
• Non-Linear Narrative Definition
– When events are portrayed out of chronological order
• Non-Linear Narrative Film Example
– Deadpool
Clip Analysis
• Discuss the clip and reference how meaning has been created through the use of (Reference clear examples from the clip)
• Costume
• Kanan and Ezra both have green yellow jackets showing quite strong and persistent in the work that they try to complete. On
the other hand, Darth Vader has Dark sinister clothing with a dark long cape to cover him. Additionally, his mask covers him
like a hood with the front gas mask design. From this you could tell Kanan and Ezra were the good guys and Darth Vader is
the bad guy
• Dialogue
• At the beginning Kanan has just seen Vader and has panic in his voice since he shouts for his team to get to safety, this
implies that he knows that Vader is strong and he doesn’t want his team to get injured by him. After they’ve escaped they
discussed in a stressed voice who Vader is, the stress gives more impact to Vaders power since if a Jedi and his Padawan
can’t defeat him, who could.
• Props
• There aren’t many props utilised within the scene but play a large role. Firstly, the lightsabers play a large role in the
characters since it shows skill within the set universe. The way Darth uses his lightsaber is slow but with power and Ezra and
Kanan use quick strikes since they’re younger. It can also be seen as the Evil character going slowly whilst the good
characters being quick. As well, Sabine and Zeb used explosive detonators to destroy the two walkers which then causes Ezra
and Kanan to force push Darth Vader under them, which in turn allows them to escape.
• Lighting
• At the beginning of the scene the only bit of lighting is the ray from the setting sun. When Vader comes into the scene the
lighting becomes darker and the main source of light for the main three characters fighting is their lightsabers, this works
well since when they clash sabers together the different lightsaber colours reflect on their faces, which shows blue on Kanan
and Red on Vader. This shows the different personalities of the two characters since Kanan is on the light side of the force
and blue shows a more caring and compassionate personality whilst Vader is on the dark side of the force and red is linked
to evil, blood, and death. In the other half of the full scene with the fight between Zeb and Sabine against the storm troopers
has the lighting of the bullets reflect of the white storm trooper armour. Additionally, the engine of the lambda shuttle
created the majority of light for that scene. This lighting creates a focus on the characters but when reflected of the storm
troopers it more faded which could be showing their old civilian life fading away into the darkness.
Clip Analysis Page 2• Camerawork
• The different camera angles create tension since it starts from a low angle when looking up at the main
characters and slowly builds up into a first person angle to see what they see which is Darth Vader in the
doorway, this eye to eye shot makes Vader seem more powerful since his presence slowly sinks into the force
wielding characters that he’s a deadly force and not someone you want to mess with. Then to increase the
tension even more they slowly move look up to his face and zoom in on his face to show his terror. Later in the
scene it turns into Ezra fighting Vaders force power to keep his lightsaber from killing him, the camera zooms
in on his face during this scene to show how Vader can form terror within peoples head and turns every battle
into a mind game. The Third main scene is when there’s a behind shot of Ezra and kanan watching as the
walkers blow up form the detonate charges which creates a large explosion that fits into the shot perfectly, but
also the explosion shows the 2 sides of the characters again since the good characters react and step back
whilst Darth Vader just stands there without care. The final scene shows the camera above Vader and a
Stormtrooper Commander when he looks down disappointed towards Vader trying to make him feel better,
this camera angle again shows Vaders presence within the empire since Commanders who have seen the most
battles are scared of him, but the Commander is then shocked when Vader is forgiving and explains to the
Commander the he didn’t do anything wrong.
• Editing
• The scene has a variety of jump cuts to create more drama within the scene. This additionally builds more
speed and allows more the fight to be more impactful to the audience. The different cuts makes you more
interested in the fight since your not just watching a long outplayed scene but switching changing focus to
make the audience always interested and keep them there to see how it plays out.
• Music
• The music initially sounds eerie but starts to change when Vader enters the scene and builds up the tension
within the fight making for a high action high stake battle where you don’t know who to vote for.
• Colour
• The different colours create a variety of emotions for each characters. Blue creates a more comprehensive
understanding person and ready to fight for what’s right. Red shows the evil within someone and that they’re
dangerous to be around and are unpredictable with no regret for what they do to someone else. The yellow
can represent the will of never giving up and the need to avenge someone who is close to them without going
into the red area of the colour scale. Finally green represents nature and the power from the little things, it
can also show the strength of never giving up and trying to help and protect others.

The colours are also very matured and not bright and colour full, fitting in with the gentlemen style of Kingsman. Props There’re a variety of props used in the image which include a plane and a cargo. Furthermore, each character has there own prop like pistols and an M416, the blade feet also can be seen as a prop since she’s not originally born with them. Lighting The buildings in the background are the main source of lighting for the image which shines behind the characters giving them a strong outline. The secondary lighting is the small explosions happening on the bottom of the logo which give a yellow tin to the main lighting and create a gold essence which then links to the silver gold theme. Framing The main center point is agent Galahad the man who got eggsy into the job. As well the picture guides you around the circle. Finally, the circle could foreshadow the future film which is now known as the golden circle. • 11. Soundtrack • Clip 1 – The First Sounds track is a quite sadistic with the eerie high pitch noise which creates a morbid atmosphere. – This suggests that something out of the blue is going to happen and the characters aren’t ready for it. • Clip 2 – It makes you feel delighted for the characters since you feel like they have accomplished what they are trying to do. Since it sets a friendly safe atmosphere where nothing could go wrong. This suggest the characters will complete what they’re trying to do. Without a problem.
  • 12. Shining • Firstly, they use the correct scenes from the film to create a more positive atmosphere. They have also included a more tranquil background track to give it a safer more acceptable condition.
  • 13. Scary Mary • They use a mixture of sudden camera angle changes and close ups of certain characters create tension and starts forming the classic horror setting. Additionally, the music is used to convey the message that nothing is what it seems and nothing can be trusted. As well, it builds the character to the audience to make them understand the situation that the children are in.
  • 14. Stereotypes Men • Good at handy work and physical labour. In media we have loads of different machinery to create a combination of camera angles and physics aspects like rain and wind. This even though no massive amount of manual labour needed is mostly filled by men. Women • Stronger with writing and organisation skills. With the introduction of the internet it’s easier to create documented work and to organise files. Even though this is the fact typically, women are the ones to do this.
  • 15. Stereotypes Upper Class • Look down on everyone who don’t have the same views and money as them. Generally have better clothes, houses, and cars. Working Class • Down to earth so have a better view of their surroundings and have the improved response to most answers unlike the upper class who live inside a bubble.
  • 16. Stereotypes Old People • Prefer to take life slowly making sure they don’t miss anything on the way. Furthermore, old people tend to try and give advice to the younger generation with no hope of breaking the advice into their heads. Known to have the wisest choice in the matter Young People • Always doing crazy thing and never thinking about the future outcome for them selves. Also, thought to never stop moving and always wanting something to do to pass the time.
  • 17. Iconography- Western • Some things I would expect to see for a western include revolvers and shotguns which are iconic sheriff and cowboy weapons used in westerns. • Another item is the cowboy hat which every male wears in westerns and have become the centre point for any western to date. • Further items involve spurs used to increase the speed a horse would go, and things like the classic sheriff badge. • Saloons and prisons are a classic building in westerns with the bank put in there for plot. • Furthermore, you would normally have the classic mountain range to provide for the desolate town effect onto the viewers
  • 18. Iconography- Sci-Fi • Iconic things you would see in a sci-fi would be improved technology or a space ship. These are used to make the viewer feel like there's a way everything could be created and many sci-fi’ has inspired many people. • More things you would expect but not always see would be an extra-terrestrial or something unknown to humanity. Which creates suspense since you don’t know anything about the implemented alien but can change in the story how we feel about them. • You also expect to go into space when watching a sci-fi since it’s all around the reaches of space and what comes from out there. • Additionally, you would also discover some form off unknown power which needs to either be stopped or put into the right hands
  • 19. Iconography- Fantasy • Firstly, you could expect to see some form of creature which can be bad or good but somehow will get to the audiences hearts. • Furthermore, you would have some type of race that is used as the main population within in the plot of any story line of fantasy • You can also see a lot of mythical powers within fantasy that would normally make no sense in other genres • The world would be anything in a dream like heaven or even a lost paradise. • Additionally, tough it’s not all nice since you can see demons, dragons, orcs, and fallen angels. • Generally though a fantasy always will have a certain evil race or monster

  • 21. Clip Analysis • Discuss the clip and reference how meaning has been created through the use of (Reference clear examples from the clip) • Costume • Kanan and Ezra both have green yellow jackets showing quite strong and persistent in the work that they try to complete. On the other hand, Darth Vader has Dark sinister clothing with a dark long cape to cover him. Additionally, his mask covers him like a hood with the front gas mask design. From this you could tell Kanan and Ezra were the good guys and Darth Vader is the bad guy • Dialogue • At the beginning Kanan has just seen Vader and has panic in his voice since he shouts for his team to get to safety, this implies that he knows that Vader is strong and he doesn’t want his team to get injured by him. After they’ve escaped they discussed in a stressed voice who Vader is, the stress gives more impact to Vaders power since if a Jedi and his Padawan can’t defeat him, who could. • Props • There aren’t many props utilised within the scene but play a large role. Firstly, the lightsabers play a large role in the characters since it shows skill within the set universe. The way Darth uses his lightsaber is slow but with power and Ezra and Kanan use quick strikes since they’re younger. It can also be seen as the Evil character going slowly whilst the good characters being quick. As well, Sabine and Zeb used explosive detonators to destroy the two walkers which then causes Ezra and Kanan to force push Darth Vader under them, which in turn allows them to escape. • Lighting • At the beginning of the scene the only bit of lighting is the ray from the setting sun. When Vader comes into the scene the lighting becomes darker and the main source of light for the main three characters fighting is their lightsabers, this works well since when they clash sabers together the different lightsaber colours reflect on their faces, which shows blue on Kanan and Red on Vader. This shows the different personalities of the two characters since Kanan is on the light side of the force and blue shows a more caring and compassionate personality whilst Vader is on the dark side of the force and red is linked to evil, blood, and death. In the other half of the full scene with the fight between Zeb and Sabine against the storm troopers has the lighting of the bullets reflect of the white storm trooper armour. Additionally, the engine of the lambda shuttle created the majority of light for that scene. This lighting creates a focus on the characters but when reflected of the storm troopers it more faded which could be showing their old civilian life fading away into the darkness.
  • 22. Clip Analysis Page 2• Camerawork • The different camera angles create tension since it starts from a low angle when looking up at the main characters and slowly builds up into a first person angle to see what they see which is Darth Vader in the doorway, this eye to eye shot makes Vader seem more powerful since his presence slowly sinks into the force wielding characters that he’s a deadly force and not someone you want to mess with. Then to increase the tension even more they slowly move look up to his face and zoom in on his face to show his terror. Later in the scene it turns into Ezra fighting Vaders force power to keep his lightsaber from killing him, the camera zooms in on his face during this scene to show how Vader can form terror within peoples head and turns every battle into a mind game. The Third main scene is when there’s a behind shot of Ezra and kanan watching as the walkers blow up form the detonate charges which creates a large explosion that fits into the shot perfectly, but also the explosion shows the 2 sides of the characters again since the good characters react and step back whilst Darth Vader just stands there without care. The final scene shows the camera above Vader and a Stormtrooper Commander when he looks down disappointed towards Vader trying to make him feel better, this camera angle again shows Vaders presence within the empire since Commanders who have seen the most battles are scared of him, but the Commander is then shocked when Vader is forgiving and explains to the Commander the he didn’t do anything wrong. • Editing • The scene has a variety of jump cuts to create more drama within the scene. This additionally builds more speed and allows more the fight to be more impactful to the audience. The different cuts makes you more interested in the fight since your not just watching a long outplayed scene but switching changing focus to make the audience always interested and keep them there to see how it plays out. • Music • The music initially sounds eerie but starts to change when Vader enters the scene and builds up the tension within the fight making for a high action high stake battle where you don’t know who to vote for. • Colour • The different colours create a variety of emotions for each characters. Blue creates a more comprehensive understanding person and ready to fight for what’s right. Red shows the evil within someone and that they’re dangerous to be around and are unpredictable with no regret for what they do to someone else. The yellow can represent the will of never giving up and the need to avenge someone who is close to them without going into the red area of the colour scale. Finally green represents nature and the power from the little things, it can also show the strength of never giving up and trying to help and protect others.
