8. Idea 1
Who It would involve me and a few friends as ourselves. There would also be other people casted for less important
roles such as a shop assistant who would only play for a short period of time
What It is the launch day for the PlayStation 5 and non of us managed to to get one online. Out of desperation, we go
out to different shops to try and get one each and when we make it to the last store, there is one left on the
shelf. It then becomes a battle between who does and who doesn’t get the PlayStation. After agreeing on
splitting the cost and making a timetable on who gets it when, we buy the system and when we walk out the
shop, Someone steels it from us. We then have to chase after the person who took it and get it back from them
Why I enjoy making something on the comedic side that I would like to laugh at. The idea of me and my friends
fighting over a console that then gets stolen from us is an adventurous story that can also have lots of laughable
moments included in it.
When It will take place November 19th 2020 Launch day in the UK for the system
Where It will start with us in a rooms at our on homes on a call where we all fail to get one online. We then agree to
meet up and search for some systems together so we venture out to other locations. They might include Leeds,
Harrogate, York or multiple of them location’s.
9. Idea 2
Who There are 2 main characters involved. Mathew and Hank. Mathew is a teenager struggling with his mental
stability after the scaring murder of his mum, and Hank is the man behind the murder of Mathew’s mum,
however is a changed man throughout the duration of the story.
What It starts with the viewer being introduced to Mathew and his struggles. It then shows a flash back of Mathews mum being murdered Infront
of his own young eyes after she refused to hand over her valuable belongings to who you later discover Hank. The man who got way with
the murder. Through his intense anger, Mathew started to seek revenge on Hank. He used his clear vision of his face from the memory to
locate him using social medias such as Facebook. And manages to track down his address. When Mathew reaches the address of Hank, he
find him outside on his own washing the car. Without hesitation, Mathew charges at Hank, attacking him onto the ground. Hank’s wife sees
this happening through the window and immediately calls the police before heading out to aid Hank. With Mathew now being pinned
down on the floor by both Hank and his wife, he is trapped till the police arrive and arrest him. When it comes to the trial in court, Mathew
is charged for the violent attack on Hank where as Hank gets away with what he did as there was no proof behind him being the murder of
Mathew’s mum. And Mathews words are not enough to convict Hank.
Why The moral of the story is to not seek revenge. It is easy as humans to seek for revenge when you don’t get
your way, or someone causes unnecessary harm to you. However revenge can often work against you which
is demonstrated in this story.
When It would take place in modern day, however will feature an important flash back to the murder of Mathew’s
mum roughly 15 years ago.
Where The main locations used through the story would be the street where Mathew’s mum was murdered, the
house of Mathew and the house of Hank.
10. Idea 3
Who The story revolves around a boy named James who suffers with schizophrenia. During the story, James
encounters multiple people. Someone who refers James to the quest, enemy's and more.
What James's is summoned on a quest to save planet earth from mass destruction. He has to tackle many obstacles
along the way in order to reach his objective. He has to get through people who stop him in order to keep the
planet safe and everyone who lives on it. However James reaches the shocking discovery at the end of his quest.
He get’s pulled off of who he saw as the criminal mastermind behind the destruction of earth. When he looks at
who grabbed him, he is shock to see a police officer. When he faces forward again, he is faced to a bloody mess.
He had stabbed a random civilian to death. That’s when it hits James that all the obstacles he had gone through
was actually him causing destruction through a schizophrenic episode
Why I like the idea of following a heroic story, only for your whole concept on the story to be extremely twisted at the
end to turn what seemed like a uplifting story into something very dark
When The story would take part in modern day, however it does not always seem that way through the eye of James
Where The story would start in a local housing estate and the story follows James traveling to other areas such as a town
centre, park, forest, etc

17. Research Summary
• What have you learned from your research?
• I have picked up on trends that are popular with all magazine company's to
use such as: Having a large main figure in the centre of the page, often
covering the masthead and common use of vibrant colours to guide the
audience to what is most important.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
• I need to plan what I think is most important on my work for an audience to
view and once I know, figure out where it would then be most appropriate to
place different categories such as inside extras. Make sure I use colour to my
advantage to gain the audiences attention as well as the size and boldness of
the text I feature to make sure they see what is most important first to try
lure them into looking for more.

20. Creating our own poster in photoshop
After being designated a random name for a
film poster we have to create, we opened
up photoshop. With my selected name
being ‘Signs in the depths’, I envisioned the
film to be based on some form of a mental
health story. The first thing I started with
was choosing an appropriate font for the
title. I wanted to be able to look at it and
find its style fitting for the theme. I chose
Grantha Sangam MN in white with a thin
black stroke around the outside of the text
21. Creating our own poster in photoshop
Next I envisioned how I wanted the poster to
look. I wanted someone lying down in a dark
environment by a window however finding
images close to what I envisioned was difficult so I
had to change features on an image close to what
I wanted. I started by removing the windows on
the windows seat image and inserting a dark city
photo to place under the window seat layer.
However the lighting environment from the
window seat layer was still quite bright so I toned
down the brightness to make it more fitting for
the darker atmosphere
22. Creating our own poster in photoshop
When I was finished with changing the lighting
conditions and the city landscape was outside the
window, I still was not happy with the look so I
altered the brightness settings again to make it
look more flush. I found areas such as the pillows
just looked unnaturally bright so I wanted to try
fix that. I also added a dark gradient to the top
and bottom to really darken the walls and make
the eye focus on what was important. It also
made the white text pop a bit more since it was
against a darker environment. I also found
darkening the top made the original window
reflection on the roof look like it blended in well
with the city photo so I was happy with that being
a bonus to the poster
23. Creating our own poster in photoshop
I then added some extra text to add an
advertising aspect to it. On the top I added a
comment by the verge, claiming to be a real eye
opener to the world of depression. And with
mental health being such an important topic to
cover in modern society, It would be a big
advertising factor. It is also common to see
actors names on posters as people will tend to
see films featuring their favourite actors.
However since this is not a real film, I added My
name as well as 2 of my friends as what was
important was making a realistic film poster.
24. Creating our own poster in photoshop
The last step for me was to add a figure to be
by the window. I originally envisioned someone
lying down by the windows however I was not
able to find a picture that would work
anywhere, however I came across something
that I found to work quite well. It was a dark
figure crawled into a ball that clearly seems to
be upset. And the theming of the dark upset
figure tied in well to the theme of the poster so
that was the picture I finalised on using to finish
off the poster. I think the final product did a
good job at conveying the feel I was aiming for
and it makes you some what feel for the
mysterious figure in the poster
27. Style Sheet
I did a selection of 2 colour pallets, both
heavily featuring the colour blue. Since
my story revolves around trying to get
the PlayStation 5, I tried to get colours
that revolved around the console. The
first pallet features both black and white.
That is to represent the colour of the
console. And I also featured 3 different
shades of blue in that first pallet before
going into more depth with the second
pallet with the shades of blue as the first
pallet did not offer the variety or shades I
was hoping for. Blue is the colour pallet I
went for as the colour that PlayStation’s
brand works off is blue.
29. Contingency
What can go wrong? What can you do if it does?
The required people needed for the photoshoot are
not available
Find something to do that day that is just as
productive or recast who ever is missing with
someone who is available that day
I am not able to find an appropriate/quite location Attempt to arrange a time after college to reattempt
the photos shoot
I cant access files (E.G. Lost SD Card) If the shoot does not take long and I know exactly
what to recreate, attempt a reshoot
Lose Access to software such as photoshop Use the college computer’s instead of MacBook
Forget to bring all the props Figure out if it is possible to edit in the prop later
Don’t have enough college time to create poster Work at home to catch up/complete extras
30. Risk Assessment
What could be a risk to you, others or the
equipment?
How can you make sure that doesn’t happen? What
will you do if it does?
Damaged Prop’s (E.G. Box Rips) See if it is possible to hide damage in editing, Shoot at
a different angle or replace the prop
Injuring a model during the shoot Because I am visualising a more hectic shot, it may be easier to do
multiple shots with different people, all at the same angle so the
shot’s can be combined allowing each shot to have its time taken
making sure no injuries are made
Vulnerable Camera Leaving the camera unsupervised on a tripod could lead to it
being knocked over easily so make sure someone is always
supervising it
Appropriate Location Being somewhere inappropriate may cause unwanted traffic
around the shooting location if we are in the way or there
may be dangers close by such as fast motorised traffic
