What is Working Environment
• The term work environment is used to describe the
conditions in which an employee operates.
• Location where a task is completed, pertaining to a place
• The physical geographical location,
• The immediate surroundings of the workplace,
• such as a construction site or office building.

 Working conditions can effect worker’s productivity, product quality.
 Temperature, ventilation, noise, and lighting are all factors in work system design.
 The work environment can involve the social interactions at the workplace, including interactions
with peers, subordinates, and managers, within limits,
 Generally, and employees are entitled to a work environment that is free from harassment.

Creating a Positive Work Environment
 A positive work environment is not only important for our
physical, mental and emotional health, but also important
for the product or service we produce for the company.
 The better we feel at work, the more likely we will take pride
in our work functions and be loyal toward our place of
employment
 It is much more pleasant, and less stressful to work in an
environment that is positive and enjoyable.

Recruitment and Selection.
• Microsoft recruits both fresh graduates from academic
campuses and experienced professionals in the IT industry.
• For campus recruitments, the selection process included
written tests and several rounds of personal interviews.

Training and Development
For trainees, Microsoft conducts a training program named leap Engineer
acceleration program (LEAP) which imparts technical and personal skills
required to carry out the job.
Microsoft have both in-class and e-learning programs.
Wide range of training programs includes:
• Software skill training (presentation, communication).
• Language training.
• Product training.
• Leadership development program.
