Undertaking (PSU) in India under the Ministry of Chemicals and
Fertilizers of the Government of India, based in Mumbai.
RCF is fourth largest producer of fertilizers in India.
The Government of India holds 75% of share capital of the
company.

Manufacturing units-
1. Bombay unit- Multiproduct integrated fertilizers & process chemical
factory in Mumbai spread across 800 acres.
2. Thal unit- Large producer of Urea along with Industrial Chemicals
located 100 km South of Mumbai spread across 1200 acres.

Products – Urea, Ammonia, Methanol, Nitric acid, Sulphuric acid,

4. Farmer Training Centres: The adoption of Agricultural technology for
increasing crop yield & land productivity is greatly facilitated by training &
adequate dissemination of knowledge. RCF sought to bridge the gap between
Research Scientist & the farmers by setting up Farmers Training Center
(FTC) in 1988 in Nagpur & in 1998 at Thal. Many farmers have attented &
benefited from these training Programmes conducted at two Farmers
Training Centre & have used the knowledge to upgrade their farm practices
& have succeed in drastically reducing their overheads & increase their
wealth.
Basic Need Development Programs: This provides basic needs of the
community like construction of community hall, drinking water facility, lift
irrigation facility, shelter for small & marginal farmers, water shed
development programs, financial help to self help group.
5. Public Health and Village Sanitation Programs: Medical camps, veterinary
camps, vaccination camp etc are organized. Appropriate sanitation facilities
are created & use of Bio-gas is encouraged.
Subsidiary Occupation Development Programme: Training & support is
given to develop subsidiary occupation to augment their income. Some of the
areas where training has been imparted are weaving, Bee keeping, Tailoring,
Dairy, Poultry, Goat keeping, etc
Farm Labour Training: Labour plays a very important role in farm
productivity & are trained to enhance their effectiveness.
Social Forestry & Waste Land Development: The denudation of forest is
posing a serious ecological threat to the country. The afforestation of waste
land is achieved through plantation saplings.
6. Youth & Women Development Programme: This facilitates the formation of
youth & Mahila Mandals at village level. Different competitions are
organized in the village periodically. The youth are also imparted the training
in sports/cottage industry etc.
Social & Cultural activity: Along with economic development, the company
encourages the organization of social / cultural activities in the adopted
villages. During last five years RCF has adopted number of villages in the
state of Maharashtra, Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh.
Soil Testing Facilities: Soil testing helps diagnose soil health & evolve soil
specific & crop specific solution. It helps to identify problematic soils, their
nutritional status, texture & structure. Based on the analysis, farmers are
advised on soil fertility management through rational use of manure,
fertilizers & amendment to make agriculture more productive & sustainable.
