networking with government agencies.
Project: MGNREGS Vermi Compost Scheme
Presently CTRD is acting as a Capacity Building Organization for imparting training, nurturing and capacitating 35,000+
small holder farmers on producing vermi-compost at their farm level in Bardhaman district of West Bengal under the
project being sponsored by MGNREGS Cell, Office of the District Magistrate, Bardhaman, West Bengal.
Job Responsibilities:
Engaged in overall project management of a project that aims to empower 35,000 farmers through promotion, capacity
building, strengthening, MIS reporting and documentation and marketing of vermi-compost (organic manure)
technology towards sustainable agriculture in Burdwan district of West Bengal.

Achievements
Guided the project in a positive direction, helped trained approx 35, 000 small holder farmers on various aspects of
vermin-composting, out of which nearly 24,000 have started production and using vermi-compost in their farm lands
and thereby, tending them towards sustainable agriculture through a dedicated field teams of 50 staffs across the
district.
Streamlined the monitoring structure and reporting system and put it in place for practice within 03 months of my
joining within this project.
Networked with external agency for marketing and procuring the surplus of vermi-compost (organic manure) that can
be marketable, supplementing small holder farmer’s livelihood income.

Achievements
Formulated five numbers of proposals related to skill development projects, nominated for Award Challenge
Competition, out of which one proposal was selected for award of funds.
Facilitated NGO (MURDS) for empanelment process with TISS-National CSR Hub Mumbai for accessing CSR funds.
Guided a group of 30 women who were trained on craft, for establishment of their own micro-enterprise, and was
succeeded in streamlining the sustained business operation, out of this, have nominated one woman master craft
person for Award completion with INDIAN MERCHANT CHAMBERS – LADIES WINGS, MUMBAI, and finally she was

Margdarshak Development Services (MDS) is a Not-for-Profit Company, headquartered at Lucknow, UP is a first

Project Handled – Firstly, 4.6 Yrs livelihood project aimed at strengthening 200
micro-enterprises of Jute Diversified Products (JDPs) in the state of West Bengal
through BDS, design development, financial support services and market linkage
from June 2010 – August 2014.
Project Co-assisted by: European Union and Traidcraft Exchange, UK.
Secondly, coordinated Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) Project Phase 1
and 2, a training project of skill creation on Jute Diversified Products in West Bengal
from June 2012 to May 2015.

Bengal)

Achievements:
Rolled out livelihood project, identified 300 + micro-entrepreneurs of Jute Products,
motivated 250 and finally nurtured 150 micro-entrepreneurs of Diversified Jute
Products and handhold them in need based areas for sustainable business
operation.
Identified, selected and nurtured 10 dedicated Business Service Providers (BSPs)
from a large pool of 40 BSPs and guided them at every levels of mentoring micro-
entrepreneurs of JDPs for capacity building process.
Established convergence with government JDPs promoting agencies, helped
organization for accessing product and services for micro-enterprises of JDPs.
Guided 10 Business Service Providers for more than 200 sessions of onsite training
modules on Business Coaching for sample 30 numbers of JDP micro-enterprises on
continuous basis for two years and there contributed in their sustained business
operation.
Designed SME toolkit (A guide to successful business enterprise) in joint
consultation with technical consultant and fellow staffs, field tested the contents of
the toolkit through JDP micro-enterprises, further modified the contents and
successfully disseminated the toolkit among 150 numbers of JDP micro-enterprises
for their utilization.
Leveraged funds to the tune of Rs.18 Lacs from Institute of Jute Technology for 3 yrs
project on skill creation on JDPs in West Bengal and thereby conducted 22 numbers
of skill development programmes on JDPs and helped trained 650+ artisans from
various parts of West Bengal, out of this was successful in bringing out 100 numbers
of women micro-entrepreneurs of JDPs.
Conducted Value Chain Analysis on Goat farming in Odisha in joint coordination
with Heifer International (the international donor agency) and thereby grasped
tools for executing value chain analysis.

Above all, in joint coordination with BASIX Consulting Services, Lucknow
contributed in agri-market survey reporting and documentation work for 20
districts of Uttar Pradesh and did reporting and documentation of capacity building
assignment of Women Farmers Federation in Uttar Pradesh sponsored by OXFAM
INDIA TRUST, was a additional consulting assignment I have done for
MARGDARSHAK.

promotion, manufacturing and strengthening of organic farming technology using EM technology (from Japan) having
pan India presence. I was posted at Head Office based at Kolkata, to coordinate and manage operations in Eastern
region especially Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.

Responsibilities Handled – Promotion of organic farming among farmers, capacity
building of field level staffs, dealer and distributorship management, preparing
reading materials on organic farming technology using EM Technology etc.

Achievements:
Introduced system of professional reporting and documentation for each activity
performed for promotion of organic farming activities and streamlined the
reporting structure within the company.
Liaison with World Vision India (NGO) in Jharkhand, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha,
Arunachal Pradesh, successfully demonstrated the field demos on organic farming
technology using EM technology and thereby managed 02 projects funding in two
states i.e. Assam and Odisha.
Implemented short term project on EM technology with 280 bodos dairy farmers
for increased milk production in indigenous cows using EM technology in Udalguri
district in Assam in joint coordination with World Vision India_ Udalguri with 10
numbers of technical officer and technical assistant and field coordinators of WVI.
Designed organic farming projects for Institutional funding especially Agri-deptt for
North-East region, out of which was succeeded for institutional funding from Agri
department of Arunachal Pradesh.
Developed various reading literature on cropping practices using EM technology for
farmers on local dialect.
Trained a pool of Agriculture Field Officers / Technical Officers of the company for
smooth functioning and implementation of field demos in various parts of India.

upliftment, JFM (Joint Forest Management), sustainable agriculture etc. working in five states of india – AP, Bihar,
Jharkhand, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.CWS operates through its State based resource centres, likewise I was posted and
was assigned the manage the projects and programmes in Jharkhand at Jharkhand Resource Centre (JRC) located at

partner NGOs in 07 districts of Jharkhand under Welhungerhilfe (the german donor
agency).

Achievements
Contributed in planning, execution and implementation of three programmes of
Watershed Development assisted by Welhungerhilfe, the german donor agency.
Conducted almost 50 numbers of trainings, seminars and workshops on sustainable
agriculture, livestock development and helped trained more than 200 farmers from
various parts of Jharkhand.
Organized exposure visit of farmers to best KVK of Jharkhand i.e. Divyayan Krishi
Vigyan Kendra, Ranchi followed by introduction of backyard poultry using
Divyayan’s improved variety of Cock and Hen and that was successful in two of
demo sites.
Organized cross learning visits among partner NGOs for exposure of best practices
especially on land and water management activities and institution building.
Conducted field exposure cum training visit to Eco-Agri Research Foundatoin,
Mysore for 7 days with 20 selected farmers and field staffs and were exposed to
organic as well as bio-dynamic agriculture.
For the first time, introduced SRI method of paddy cultivation in watershed areas of
partner NGOs and facilitated 80 farmers, and the result was very encouraging.
Introduced paddy-wheat cropping practice with tribal farmers in some of the
remotest parts of Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar and Chatra districts in Jharkhand
through convergence with local KVK and Central Rice Research Institute,
Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

Achievements
Formed, revived and nurtured more than 50 numbers of women SHGs under the
project, introduced systems and practice among the members related to meetings,
inter-lending, accounts practice and yearly audit of funds and helped more than 10
WSHGs established their micro-enterprise especially on goatery, piggery, NTFP etc.
Advocated concept of Federation among the WSHGs at Block level and this has led
to aggregation process at panchayat level to form SHG Federation.
Mentored numbers of WSHGs on basics of SHG Management, this initiative has led
to smooth operation of the WSHGs in programme areas.
Introduced and devised various training modules for village level animators who
served as connecting link between NGO and beneficiary communities.
Helped and supported members of Village Watershed Committees (VWCs) / Gram
Sabhas for devising their Gram Sabha Resource Management Plan (GSRMP) under
the project.
Capacitated Gram Sabhas for executing land and water management activities and
maintenance of proper accounts for every structures executed in the project.
Above all, created a pool of village level animators under the project who were
trained, nurtured and given exposure for undertaking any type of NRM related
activities.
PUBLICATIONS AND PAPERS
Contributed in documenting and translating a position paper that was focused on
‘Alternative Farmer’s Policy in Jharkhand” in joint coordination with Sukhar Virodhi
Abhiyan (a network of organizations addressing drought and water related issues in
Jharkhand) when I was the part of CWS.
Devised toolkit for micro-entrepreneurs of Jute Diversified Products (JDPs), a guide
for establishing new enterprise of JDPs, this was done in my present organization.
