Solar Thermal Electricity (STE) is a renewable
energy source and is a technology, which is
converted Solar energy into thermal energy in the
form of heat . which produce hot water for your
daily requirements with the energy of sun.
these hot water ‘s we can use for domestic,
industrial and production of steam for the
generation of electricity.

Solar thermal collectors are classified.
 Low temperature collectors
 Medium temperature collectors
 High temperature collectors
Low temperature collectors are flat plates
collectors and evacuated tube collectors
generally use to heat swimming
pools .the temperature range of low thermal
collectors 5 to 30 degree .
 Medium-temperature collectors are also
used flat plates collectors but are used for
heating water for cooking.
the temperature range of medium thermal
collectors 30 degree to 100 degree .
 High-temperature collectors concentrate
sunlight using mirrors or lenses and are
generally used for electric power
production. The temperature range of
high thermal collectors above 100 degree.
For high temperature We use parabolic
concentrate collectors.
we know that sun is a good source of energy
so that in the future we will all most depends
on sun’s energy by using solar thermal energy.
The STE industry is committed technological
Improvements and focused on increasing plant
Efficiency and reducing operating cost.
All these factors can lead to electricity
generation cost saving up to 30%by 2015 and
up to 50% by 2025 and saving conventional cost
like coal /gas and all other fuels By increasing
size of plant.
 Low Temperature (> 30C)
 Swimming pool heating
 Ventilation air preheating
 •Medium Temperature (30C –100C)
 Domestic water and space heating
 Commercial cafeterias, laundries, hotels
 Industrial process heating
 •High Temperature (> 100C)
 Industrial process heating
 Electricity generation
 It dose not produce green house gases.
 Infinite free energy.
 Decentralization of power.
 Going off grid with solar.
 It is renewable energy system
 Saving eco-system and livelihoods.
 Solar dose not work at night.
 Solar inefficiency.
 Solar panels are bulky.
