1. Double Page Article Headline Creation
Original:
“1995 (name of Sherry’s second album) BREAK THE SALES WEEK RECORD
SINCE 2003…”
Drawback: The length of the headline is alright but it’s like a summarise of my
interview, it’s too common and boring, and the font use is very simple. It’s like when
people see you headline, they know what you’re going to talk about so they won’t
have interest to read through it anymore. I’m afraid readers won’t be attracted of my
Cover Story.
Challenge Headline:
- ICE COOL SHERRY TALKS ABOUT HER EPIC COMEBACK
- “I MAY BE ICE COOL BUT MY NEW ALBUM IS HOT!”
The red one is the headline which I chose at last. The reason why I used “ICE
COOL” in both of them is because I want make it relate to my snowy effect
backboard. In my story, Sherry is a teenager country music star. After she released
her first album, she become popular, and now, she just released her second
album,so I used “COME BACK” and used “TALKS” impact this article is an
interview. However, I think the second one is the best choice. It’s quite obvious, and
I think the language use is more closer to the teenagers talk to each other at
ordinary time, so it can appeal to my target audience who aged 14-25. And I used
“COOL” and “HOT” this opposite make people wonder the details of her new album.
Challenge Sub-headline
- “MY SECOND ALBUM SMASHED THE RECORD BOOKS!”
- “MY SECOND ALBUM FREEZES OUT MY COMPETITION”
For my sub- headline, the information I want to give to readers is this album is
her second one and she has been break the record. These two sub- headline is
2. quite similar. With comparison, I think the first one can direct tell readers what
happen in the story in order make people want to find more in the article.
