2. NAME
That’s the name I decided to
use for my magazine. I think it
connotes to independence
and freedom as it tells the
reader to define what the
magazine is himself. It also
looks clear and interesting
with the font I chosen.
This name has a very clear
link to indie genre as The
word ‘Indie’ comes from the
word ‘Independent 'which
refers to lesser-known in
music labels
I think this name sounds
mysterious and also fits a
new magazine however it
wouldn’t fit as much when it
gets more known and also it
doesn’t link to music as
much.
Word created by taking last
letter from genre name
‘ Indie’ sounds familiar but
also interesting
3. Types of articles
in
indie/alternative
rock magazines
“Sleeping With Sirens
Announce New
Album, Madness”-
Kerrang
Fall Out Boy: "Rock
Has To Change... Or
It Will Die" -Kerrang
“10 tours you have
to see in 2015”-
Kerrang
“ALBUM REVIEW: The
Cinema – Talking In
Your Sleep”-Into The
Crowd
“REVIEW: Boston Calling
Music Festival (Sept
’14)”- Into The Crowd
“The weeks best gigs”
-NME
“We’re stronger than
ever”
“We’re a gang now… it’s us against
the world”-Nme
“I’m bringing
ginger back “-nme
“Question time with…”
“I don’t think we were prepared
to be famous”
4. FONTS
This is the font I will use for my
masthead. I chose it because
of it’s edgy, interesting look
and also because missing
parts of letters leave some
space for imagination which
can link to magazine’s name.
That font was a second option for a
masthead however I think it doesn’t
look clear and fits other genres more
and also people in my questionnaire
chose the other one.
Basic font can be used for my
sub-headlines on my content
page. I think it would balance
out other, more fancy fonts but
still stand out because of being
bold. I can also use it for cover-
lines on front cover.
One version of this font I might
use for headline of my main
article. It’s simple but also
because of the details fits rock
genre and catches attention.
This font is very thin and I could use it for
my main article headline. However if I
make it bold I could use it as cover lines if
it doesn’t collide with masthead look.
