What was it like working with vicetone onyour firststudio album? It wasf*ckingawesome,the
guysare great,I reallydon’tthinktheygetenoughcreditforwhattheydo,I feel like theybrought
somethingamazingtomymusicthat mixedinreallywell withmystyle,itwasan honourto work
withsuchtalent.
There’srumours that JustinBeiberhas approached for a collaboration,is that true? Whatdid you
say? Yeah,he didapproachme,if he’dhave askedme 6 monthsago, I wouldhave toldhimtoget
f*ckedbut I ratheradmire hisnewstyle andhow he’smanagedtoswitchit upso I gave him a
sample tolay downsome lyricsto,I’mstill waitingforhimtogetback to me onthat actuallybut I’ve
got highhopesforthe kid,I mean,don’tgetme wrong,he’sstill apretentiouslittle tw*t,Icouldn’t
bare to be inthe same roomfor more than five minutesbefore kickinghisprettylittleface inbuthis
music’salrightandthat’sall that matters.
Do you have any advice for any buddingDJs out there? I guessI’djust tell themtogetthemselves
out there,make musicthatyou’dwantto listentoyourself,notwhatotherswouldwanttolistento
and justgenerallyenjoyyourself. Justdon’tbe thatguy [orgirl] whogetsfamousfor changingone or
twonotesin someone else’ssongandcallsita ‘remix’
What wouldyou say was the biggestinfluence toyour style of music? I thinkI’dprobablyhave to
say OliverHeldens,Imeancome on,the guysf*ckingawesome,have youheardwombass?Itjust
givesme chillseverytime the drophits.

want to say to him? You’re sh*tingme?I guessI’djustsay keepitup,you’re a f*ckingawesome guy
whomakesf*ckingawesome music, I’dlove toworkona projectwithyousoif you’re up forit, hit

You’re doing a set at Parklife this year? What sort of line up can we expectto hear from you? I
can’t say toomuch or my managerwill goapesh*t, suffice tosaythat youwon’tbe left

not justbecause itsoutdoorsandwon’thave a roof to start with.
Are you headlininganyother festivalsthisyear? Not necessarilyheadliningbutthere were talksof
me makingan appearance at Leeds,althoughIhaven’theardmuchaboutthat for a few monthssoit
couldhave fallenthrough,mymanagersabit sh*t like thatwhenitcomesto securinggigsbutI
couldnevergetridof the guy,I f*ckinglove him!
You love him enoughto lethim drag your career down? He defiantlydoesn’tdragmycareerdown,
I thinkthat came off a bitdifferentlythanImeantittoo,what he lacksin gettingme hiredforgigs,
he more thanmakesup forin gettingmymusicproducedanddistributed,andthe guysaf*cking
legendwhenitcomestomarketing,he’sevengivenme songideasbefore
Oh really?How come you don’t credit him inyour songsthen? WhenI saygivesme ideas,Iliterally
justmeanhearinghimtappingonthe deskandthinking“sh*t,it’snotbad that” I do actuallywrite a
little somethingabouthimontwittereverynow andthenandI evenmentionhimonmy albums
covernotes.
