2. Social groups are presented differently
depending on the target audience usually. Media
products present and target social groups usually
by the characters age, gender, ethnicity and
sexuality.
I think our product targets the age and gender
categories most.
3. The age of the actress is older, which in turn
means that our media product represents the
social group for adults, particularly around the
ages of 40- 50 year olds.
Apart from obvious signs of age, the dress style
isn’t what a typical young person would wear
showing that the character is of the older
generation.
4. Our media product would typically be targeted
towards an older social group however I don’t
think that this is necessarily true in all cases. I
think that our genre is much more commonly
targeted towards the younger generation,
particularly the horror genre.
5. After doing some research we found out that
most commonly in horror/ sci-fi movies a female
protagonist is strong minded and independent.
This is probably because it’s the protagonist and
due to the genre of the film. Because of this we
made sure that our actress didn’t look weak or
worried but looked strong and powerful.
