What is “social media”? Maybe better, “what is not social media?” More than blogs, more than Twitter or Facebook or MySpace or … News and information have gone social So all media is now “social media”
Competitive Intelligence? Is it? The polite term for spying (yes) Understanding how the outside world perceives you, your company, and your brand (yes) Understanding what is going on in your niche (yes) Just having that informational edge that keeps you a step ahead (yes)
In the beginning there was Google It was good but… Tedious Companies didn’t know how to deal with the information coming at them
And then came blogs & RSS The fire hose could be adjusted, segmented, categorized and managed To a point
Then the rest of the world found it and we were toast. Even RSS became too much to manage
