Stealing Should Have Taught You Essay
When you were younger, your parents tried to teach you or should have tried to teach you that
stealing is wrong and could get you in trouble. The definition of stealing, according to Webster s
dictionary, is to take another person s property without permission or legal right without intending
to return it. Another thing parents should have taught you is the lesson on losing thing. Don t
misplace that, you might need it later! or Don t forget where that whatever it was is! and hopefully
you learned! The definition of losing, this also according to Webster s dictionary, is to be unable to
find. What happens when you mix the two? See, to this day, I don t count it as stealing. I swear I
had the intention to return the book! I would never steal anything, especially not from a teacher. I

Marjane Satrapi Persepolis Feminist Analysis
For many decades, discrimination has been an ongoing issue internationally. Discrimination can
be based on social, political, gender differences and can be affected by so many things, like how
you were raised. In Iran, women were to be seen as lesser compared to men, and with time, women
rights are progressing. Marjane Satrapigrew up in Tehran, Iran. When Marjane Satrapi was
growing up, she faced inequalities, mainly because she was a woman, and she uses the graphic
novel, Persepolis, to illustrate and accurately show what life was like, and what conflicts she faced.

In the graphic novel, Persepolis, all women faced discrimination based on their gender, which
made the already hard life, even more intense and more unbearable for women. Women had to be
clothed from head to toe, and they had to wear hijabs, whereas men did not. Women had to be
fully clothed, and were not able to show any skin, and men could choose to wear what they
wanted. This made life Iran for women much harder than it already was. In the graphic novel,

Elrey B Jeppesen Short Story
My father has always preach that education is one of the most rewarding and challenging things
one can do to better themselves economically and have a more stable life. As a young child my
interest was aviation instead of going to museums, parks, or doing any other activities, my
personal interest was spending time at the airport seeing planes takeoff and land. During high
school I had the chance to befriend a substitute teacher that was a pilot. My father along with my
professor talked to me about Elrey B. Jeppesen, a young kid that at sixteen drop out of school to
become a barnstorming pilot for a circus and later became a pilot for the airmail service. Elrey B.

James Bushy
On October 28, 1835, James Bushy who was appointed to be a British Resident by the Crown and
chiefs from Northland singed a Declaration of Independence in Waitangi. According to
Walker(1990), the initial motivation of Declaration was that a trade ship of Aotearoa/New Zealand
was impounded in Sydney because of not flying a flag. The King of England was petitioned to
provide protection from foreign invasion by 13 leading chiefs from North. After that, Bushy and
other 34 chiefs signed the Declaration of Independence (p.88). There were four parts to the
Declaration of Independence. The first clause is that the chiefs announced to be an Independent
State under the United Tribes of Aotearoa/New Zealand. The second clause is that all sovereign
power and authority belong to the hereditary chiefs and heads of tribes. The third clause is that the
hereditary chiefs and heads of tribes consent to meet in Congress at Waitangi annual. The fourth
clause is that they also consent to send a copy of the Declaration to the King of England to show
their gratitude.
Walker(1990) pointed out that Busby and Henry Williams equated the word mana with sovereignty
and power in the translation of the Declaration. After five years, it became to an important point
under the Treaty of Waitangi. In, 1836, tribal fighting resumed.Between 1838 and 1839, there were

Peppered Moth Essay
The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that
involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the
1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light,
medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor
widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information
that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it
works by using several pen update commands which execute the global variables (light, medium,
dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section... Show more

The setup and go button would help prepare the world with the specific amount of moths, and run
the stimulation respectively. The mutation slider would control the mutation rate of the moths
changing color. A lower mutation rate establish a correlation between the color of the parent moth
and the color of the offspring, whereas a high mutation rate like 100% represent that the color of the
parent moth and the offspring do not necessary have to be related. Moreover, the selection slider
determine the survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0
percent, the ever moth have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the
moth to camouflage is very important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution
levels in the environment, much like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to
manually manipulate the pollution levels of the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider
would control the rate at which the pollution level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100
being the fastest. Lastly, the monitors would document either the total amount of moths, the
number of moths for each three types of color, the pollution rate, or the time as shown by the
number of

Food Apps And The Apple App
With technology nowadays, the production and use applications, or simply apps, have become
widely popular. Being that I am a Computer Science major, and have myself created a mobile
application and a handful of web applications, I know the power of this stuff and how they are
able to reach and affect millions of people all over the planet. As wise ones once said: With great
power comes great responsibility. We must create and use this technology boom and creation of
applications to benefit human life, not harm it. I believe we started to do this with the creation of
foodapps. The power to spread beneficial knowledge about food can reach everyone with the tap
of a finger. Healthy food practices and the awareness of organic foods can change people lives
through an app. However, some food apps fail to do such. Some apps are more profit focussed
rather than morality focused. I will cover the strengths and weaknesses of three food apps in the
Apple App Store, one Monterey Bay Aquarium s SeafoodWatch, EAT24, and Yummly. First we
will go over Seafood Watch. The first weakness I immediately notice (note this may be a biased
opinion based on my app development experience) is the user interface. The app is not all that
pretty, and nowadays the top apps are also the most beautiful. Besides that, the applications
contents are really good. I am able to search for different kinds of seafood, and also learn a lot
about that particular breed of fish. On the home screen, there is a

Colonel Pyncheon Revenge
In The House of the Seven Gables, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the Maules witchcraft as a key to
revenge on the Pyncheon family. Many Pyncheon generations later, they still believe they have
control of the Maules because they ended up with the land. They possess a sense of entitlement
because they believe they are becoming close to millionaires and the Pyncheon inheritors are
willing to do anything to obtain the fortune. The Maules, however, have their secret legacy,
guaranteeing them to receive not only the money, land, and house but also revenge for the years of
superiority from the Pyncheon s.
Colonel Pyncheon wants Matthew Maule s land because of Maule s well, a spring full of fresh
water, and where his house sits. He demands he has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some said that he could look into people s minds; others, that, by the marvellous power of this eye,
he could draw people into his own mind, or send them, if he pleased, to do errands to his
grandfather, in the spiritual world; others, again, that it was what is termed an Evil Eye, and
possessed the valuable faculty of blighting corn, and drying children into mummies with the
heartburn. (132) The Maules possess witchcraft in them, and Matthew uses it on Alice Pyncheon,
Old Colonel Pyncheon s granddaughter.
Gervayse Pyncheon, just like any other Pyncheon, shows greed over the deed and money. He
brings in Matthew Maule to tell him where the deed was, as he once worked on the house when it
went missing. He asks for Alice and he sends her to him because his will to give up anything to
find the inheritance. Matthew ends up hypnotising Alice and turns her into his slave. Gervayse
Pyncheon now cannot obtain the deed and also loses Alice through greed as a consequence of his.
The Pyncheons possess a never ending curse because of the generations before. The faults of the
beginning generations affect older generations after. The Pyncheons believe they control the house
and will find the land deed, not knowing that a Pyncheon cannot do such a thing. The Maule s end
up with all the land and money because of the curse put on the Pyncheons. Greed overtakes the
family and will not let them

Water Activity Lab
Water Activities Post Lab Questions: You may type onto the document or write out on a separate
sheet of paper. You may use your lab. You should use the words polar, non polar, hydrogen bonds,
cohesion, adhesion, surface tension and other vocabulary words as much as possible when
explaining your answers. 1. What causes water to be a polar molecule? Water is a polar molecule
because of its polar covalent bonds. In a water molecule, two hydrogen atoms are covalently
bonded to one oxygenatom. However, due to the oxygen atom being more electronegative than the
hydrogen atoms, the bonds between the oxygen and hydrogen atoms are polar covalent bonds.
Since the oxygen atom is more electronegative, the shared electrons between the two different...

In order to get rid of its electrons, a Magnesium atom needs to give them to another a chlorine
atom that needs one electron to fill it valence shell. Magnesium has two electrons, which means
that it needs two chlorine atoms to help dispose of its electrons. This ionic bond creates a Mg+2
ion and two Cl 1 ions (Mg+2Cl2 1). When this compound is dissolved in water, the oxygen atom is
attracted to the magnesium atom and the hydrogen atoms are attracted to the chlorine atoms, due to
their opposite charges. As the MgCl2 compound enters the water, the water molecules surround and
separate all the ions, due to the opposite poles attracting. This dissociates the compound. The
partially negative oxygen ends cling to the partially positive magnesium atoms, while the partially
positive hydrogen ends cling to the partially negative chlorine atoms. The compound is now

My Pretivation Of Early Child Observation
My observation took place in 3 4 yrs. old preschool class. During my observation, there were 2
teachers and 7 children.
Teacher directed experience This observation part took place during circle time. The children sat
down in a large circle carpet, each on a letter. One of the teachers sat directly across the children,
with her back facing the calendar. The other teacher sat down in between two children. All the
windows were open and there was music playing softly in the background, as they got ready to
start. Teacher began by singing and playing the Good morning song, while signing the song.
Children follow the teacher and began to sing, and make movements with their hands to follow
along. They proceeded by singing the days of the week, months of the year, What s the weather
songs. Following by going over the seasons, month and day of the week. Consequently, teacher
followed by reading a story for the children. She used a felt board to assist her with the story. She
read, Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. She smiled as she told the story, and tucked the
monkeys behind her back as they fell off. Teacher provided opportunities for children to
collaborate on solving how many monkeys were left. The children were engaged in the story, and
smiled and sang as she told the story.
Child initiated activity During the child initiated activity, I conducted my observation while they
were in free choice time. The area I focused on was the Dramatic

Sam, You Are Receiving A Call
Sam, you are receiving a call, noted Dawn, sighing. Sam. Sam, you need to get up now. Wrapped

Nonetheless, her roommate wasn t all too interested in her stillness. She had a mission, and that
mission was to get her best friend out of bed. Samantha? she asked one more time, If you don t get

After having shoved half of a waffle drowning in maple syrup down her throat, she said her

into the building, she had no idea as to what would be happening. Other than the fact that Edgar
was there, which made the trip worth it for her, she was totally clueless as to what he was

Spying around the room, she found Edgar with his sword up, practicing his thrusts with a

Above all, its specific properties have not yet been fully exploited, which can be partially
attributed to a shortage of easily available statistical methods in the past and a lack of awareness
on the side of the researchers. In the following sections we will first discuss the properties of
various measurement scales and subsequently focus on the continuous rating scale in online
surveys in more detail. Sub3
sequently we discuss the problem of outliers and nonsense data in survey research and apply
classical and robust factor analysis to our data sample. Finally, we simulate the occurrence of
outliers („noise‟) in our data set and illustrate how different levels of noise impact the results
of factor analytic procedures.
Measurement
Scaling The usage of surveys in IS research has been heavily criticized in the past for lack of
psychometric rigor and appropriate modeling techniques. In order to remedy this problem, general
standards for conducting surveys have to be improved and constantly questioned (Pinsonneault
Kraemer, 1993; Newsted et al., 1996). When constructing a questionnaire, researchers are
confronted with the task of finding an appropriate scale to measure the construct(s) under
investigation. Usually this is done by consulting previous literature and adopting a set of items
which has been previously tested for validity and reliability. A

The Pros And Cons Of Prime Minister Borden
Prime minister Borden was wrong in passing military service act of 1917 being that all mentally
and physically stable men age 20 45 is forced to enlist in the military. He was wrong in
conscripting the french Canadians because it limited their french Canadian culture secondly it
limited democracy toward them and lastly there was no real reason for conscription in the first place.
Firstly The military service act was passed in the year 1917 by prime minister Borden, who was a
great nationalist and wanted to make sure that his country was well protected. Conscription took
away from french Canadian culture because many of the soldiers were mainly English speaking
creating language barriers between french Canadians and English Canadians. ... Show more content

Bringing nationalism could help Canada win the war and gain strength and power. Specifically,
conscription forces you to enlist meaning that there would be no way out young men could be
enrolled at any time and you can be arrested if you disagreed or resisted in any way. If you are
passionate to do something you will do it with great confidence. Similary if you feel patriotic
towards your nationality you will jump at any chance to do anything to protect it. But when you
are being forced to enlist you will not have a real passion, or feel patriotic towards your nation
because that person is being forced to enlist they will not feel loyal to their nation anymore, The
opposing point states that nationalism helps keep a country protected, and that enlisting people
will make canada seem larger. Secondaly when a young french canadian boy is being
conscripted/enlisted they will not be physically and mentally prepared for what they were going
to do , and what they will observe while serving in the military . The opposing viewpoint is
wrong because in order for nationalism to be brought in a country you have to have a passion or
really want to do it you need to feel great patriotism towards your country ,

Holden Caulfield s Arrest On Drug Charges Essay
Statement of Assignment
You have asked me to analyze the circumstances surrounding our client, Holden Caulfield s arrest
on drug charges to determine if the evidence seized in the arrest is subject to the exclusionary rule.
I am to examine three aspects of the traffic stop and arrest, the initial stop, the extension of the stop,
and the details surrounding the consent to search given by Mr. Caulfield.
Issue #1
Under Texas law, can evidence found during a traffic stop be excluded because the stop in question
was for what would be considered a very minor offense?
Issue #2
Under Texas law, can evidence seized during a stop for a minor traffic violation be excluded based
on the prolonged continuation of said traffic stop?
Issue #3
Under Texas law, can evidence seized during a routine traffic stop be excluded based on consent to
search, when it is not clear whether consent was voluntarily given?
Brief Answer
Issue #1
Under Texas law, can evidence found during a traffic stop be excluded because the stop in
question was for what would be considered a very minor offense?
No, police officers are justified in making a traffic stop whenever they witness a traffic violation.
Mr. Caulfield did commit traffic infractions, and no matter how minor the violations, Officer
Campbell was justified in stopping him for those infractions.

because it is a USB mic, it is very easy to maneuver the mic, or just completely change your entire

both Sony consoles and Microsoft consoles, Turtle Beach has gun to lean towards Sony in terms
of console headsets; just two years ago Turtle Beach agreed to manufacture Sony s official PS4

The Importance Of Same Sex Marriage
Globalism and Nationalism play a huge part in our society today and they are required for the
progression and development of the country. I think nationalism is important in the development of
our country, but globalism is also needed to become a developed country, because without
globalism, nationalism is not able to act, so both of them depend on each other. The same sex
marriageissue is a contradicting viewpoint for both nationalists and globalists worldwide. Same
sex couples should be treated like any other person and should not be denied anything an ordinary
person would not. Same sex marriage has impacted many people in our society today, whether it
being people disagreeing or agreeing with it. According to an article titled Countries Least
Accepting Of Same Sex Marriage written by Kimutai Gilbert it says The countries leading in
legalizing same sex marriageare western countries and countries of the Americas including the
United Kingdom and the United States among others . Some of the other countries still oppose
same sex marriage due to them thinking that it is unreligious, uncultured, and unacceptable. An
example of this was in July 2012 when a gay couple asked a baker to create a wedding cake for a
celebration of their marriage. Mr. Phillips told them that he could not design and bake a wedding

World War II had just ended a few years ago, marriageand birth rates dramatically increased, and
the divorce rate was declining. It was nicknamed the baby boom. The ideal family of the 1950 s
was the dad was the head of the household, he brought the paycheck, the mom did the cooking,
cleaning and taking care of the children and the kids were well behaved and courteous. In the
1950s the age for marrying had decreased from 24 for men to 22 and 21 for women to 20. This
was due mainly to the war which caused uncertainty in young couple s lives. Many women took
wartime jobs and they got to experience a sense of freedom they had never known before, when
the war was over they were pressured to return back to their domestic roles. Eventually being
someone s bride and wife was once again the goal of most women but one third of women still
made up the work force. The 1950s is viewed as a time of conformity for both men and women.
Women were much pressured to keep the family entity strong and together. The way to do this
best was by remaining at home to take care of her husband and children, and refusing to pursue a
career or go in the work force, or so they said. Working women were paid much less than men and
were still regarded as meek and inferior beings. Also, a common stereotype about women was that
they went to college to get a Mrs. (pronounced M.R.S.) degree, meaning a husband (PBS.Org).
Many women had other aspirations in life but because of society and media at that time a husband
was far more important than anything

King Arthur Character Analysis
King Arthur isn t a strong leader! Everyone believes that King Arthur had a perfect kingdom and
that he was a strong and brave leader and could face any danger and come back alive. In King
Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green, King Arthur has trouble
making crucial decisions in the story and lets his emotions get the best of him during drastic times,

Guinevere being together because he was scared of the truth of them actually being together, he

kingdom. King Arthuris a weak Leader! His emotions get the best of him. When Merlin told him
that he shouldn t love Guinevere because she will bring the end to Arthur s kingdom and then
she did (p.46). He always lets his feelings take charge of his decisions even though he shouldn t
be letting them overcome the decision of his people and his court. (...) King Leodegraunce, who

and for thinking of her could hardly rest or eat when he came home to Camelot.(...) A man of
your bounty and nobleness should not be without a wife, nor should the realm of Logres lack a
queen... But tell me now is there any princess whom you love more than another? Yes indeed
there is, said Arthur. I love Guinevere, King Leodegraunce s daughter. And she is the fairest,
sweetest, loveliest, and purest maiden in all the world. Her will I wed, or die a bachelor!
Certainly she is among the fairest, said Merlin. Yet I would that you loved another; for by her very
beauty shall come the end of Logres (...). Even though Merlin warns Arthur about the danger of him
marrying Guinevere and Arthur refuses to listen to his advisor and this decision did bring the end
to the realm of Logres. King Arthur lets his past get the best of his judgement. King Arthur let

Three Main Reasons For The Abolition Of The Atlantic Slave...
The abolition of the Atlantic slave trade. The aim of this essay is to evaluate the reasons for the
abolition of the Atlantic slave trade as well as conclude on what I determine to be the main
reason for the abolition. I will consider the three main factors; The influence of William
Wilberforce in parliament, The abolitionist campaign and its influence on public opinion, as
well as slave resistance and rebellion. The trade took place throughout the years of the 15th
century and continued through to the 19th century. The trade involved Europeans taking goods
from Europe such as weapons and fabric to Africa which they would trade for the brutal capture
of men, women and children from their homes and countries, these people would then be taken
to countries in north and south America on slave ships where they lived in terrible, cramped and
diseased conditions for months as they travelled through the middle passage. When they arrived
in America they would be forced to work in awful conditions on plantations in order to produce
goods such as sugar, cotton and tobacco. Which would then be transported back to Europe.
William Wilberforce was born in 1759. He grew up very privileged and became very popular and
well known for his eloquent, witty and powerful speeches and was elected to the house of
commons aged only 21. Wilberforce then used his platform to advocate for many causes such as
education reform. Wilberforce began to focus his efforts on the abolition of the slave trade

Why Is Mommy Important To Me
Jeremy In the song Jeremy we read, listened, and watched a song about a kid. The 3 tones were

is even more depressing then the other 3. So I will explain to you why these are now. The first
tone is us reading the lyrics simply. The lyrics tone was sad because when you read the song,
some of it says I remember picking on the boy and Daddy didn t give attention to the fact
mommy didn t care. These are only 2 of the several song quotes that make it sad. As in 2
problems are the parents are neglecting their child, and he is being bullied by reading it. So the
mood is sad for this. Now the second one is listening to the music, when the singer says the lyrics
he makes it sound exciting. As he is saying it with excitement, making us all excited as well. So
this Defeats the point of the sad tone in reading it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Thank you [ person who called me up] Good Evening Mr. Mayor and Council members.
In the words of George Washington, It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of
Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection
and favor... Benjamin Franklin stated, In the beginning of the Contest with Great Britain, when we
were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. . Our prayers,
Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle
must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. To that kind
providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace... Then Franklin stated something
with so much wisdom generation after generation ought to ask themselves. And have we now
forgotten that powerful friend? Have we? That powerful Friend asks for us to humble ourselves
and pray. Pray for in the words of Thomas Jefferson, for the continuance of his favor and protection

Councils, and bless them with wisdom from on high,... that he would bless and prosper the means

Essay On The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari
When one thinks of Germany, he or she would most likely think of Nazi propaganda, Hitler, and
concentration camps. Although these depictions of Germany may be true, they are relatively
closed minded because they only depict a single, relatively dark time period in Germany s history
called the Third Reich. The time periods which portray Germanyfrom the twentieth century to
present day are quite diverse, and German films respective to each time period reflect that diversity.
The time periods include the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich, Germany during the Cold War
, and
Germany post Cold War. Therefore, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari portrays Germany s Weimar
Republic, Triumph of the Will portrays Germany during the Third Reich, The Lives of Others...

The German mark lost almost all of its value due to inflation, the debt Germany owed to Allied
Powers increased exponentially, and Germany had to liquidate its military. Even though
Germany was falling apart in the year 1919, there was still hope as it miraculously birthed the
Weimar Republic, which lasted until 1933. During this time period, the true state of its people
and country were portrayed through film. One of the most iconic films of the Weimar Republic,
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, was released in 1919. This mysterious, yet incredibly confusing film
embodied the anxiety and uncertainty felt by German citizens during the Weimar Republic.
Specifically anxiety related to current and future chaos, and uncertainty related to sanity. In The
Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, the protagonist Francis narrates a past experience of his in which he
ends up wrongfully locked up in a psychiatric ward. In this past experience, a man introduced as
the somnambulist Dr. Caligari controlled a man named Cesare, and had Cesare kill people of
his choosing. Trying to expose Dr. Caligari s acts, Francis ends up being locked up in a
psychiatric ward. What is odd is that Dr. Caligari is then shown as the doctor running the
psychiatric ward, trying to help Francis with his condition. The duality of Dr. Caligari symbolized
uncertainty and chaos experienced by Germans after World War I. Like the audience of the film,
Germans questioned who was or was not sane. Would the search for and desire and control by an
authoritative figure, like Dr. Caligari, remove the chaos Germans felt? Or, would that control lead
to worse chaos in the

Langston Hughes Poetry
In 1964, Langston Hughes stated Hang yourself, poet, in your own words. Otherwise, you are
dead. Hughes use of this quote is immediately reflected throughout all his works. He stood out
amongst the most energetic essayists and scholars of the Harlem Renaissance, which was the
African American artistic growth in the 1920s that praised dark life and culture. Hughes innovative
expertise was impacted by his life in New York City s Harlem, an essentially African American

In the poem, Open Letter to the South by Langston Hughes, it demonstrates a unique instance of the
disparity. In the poem, Langston Hughes discusses how whites and blacks should unite,
regardless of their skin color and their history. This theme is shaped in this poem by reiterating
nonconcrete ideas to demonstrate to the reader that there must be change for the people to be
treated equally. Hughes use of alliteration to point out the more important words, and similes are
used to give the reader a better understanding of what he was attempting to demonstrate. There
are various circumstances where Hughes is redundant. The beginning of the poem states, That
the land might be ours/And the mines and the factories and the office towers. (Lines 14 and 15).
Then states, That the plants and the roads and the tools of power, / Be ours (Line 17). Then
Hughes supports the ideas mentioned prior by reiterating, Takes land, /Takes factories, / Takes
office towers, / Takes tools and banks and mines. (Lines 58 61). Hughes uses repetition to suggest
these words are more essential than the rest and he needs to make this part of the poem emerge.

Earned Tax Credit Policy
One problem the policy faces is that even though the Earned Income Tax Credit encourages work
for some groups, it actually discourages work for others; such as families with two earners who
can decrease hours worked and still have the same amount of money due to the amount of credit. It
is becoming a challenge for low to middle income families to benefit from the policy and even
harder to gain upward social/economic mobility. According to Eamon (2009), Although we might
expect that over time the EITC would motivate more low income parents to enter the workforce and
take advantage of this program, thus further reducing child poverty, our analysis provides little

Body Dysmorphic Disorder Analysis
The popular conception of anorexia involves glamorous celebrities and supermodels, teen girls
and magazines, and is nothing like the reality of hospitals, hair loss, and, oftentimes, death.
Anorexia nervosa is the deadliest of all psychiatric illnesses and cuts across racial, age, and
gender backgrounds. The image of the white teen girl munching on ice cubes is only part of the
picture of a serious, complex, and very misunderstood disorder. When I was in high school, my
best friend Kylie* changed drastically. Her sense of style shifted and she started wearing brightly
colored sweatshirts and hair extensions. She also got her driver s license before the rest of us and
would get lunch off campus, bringing my friends and I back milkshakes and... Show more content

This notion, however, has been viewed as more antiquated in recent years, and the etiological
perception of the disorder has become a lot more nuanced. An individual s environment and social
status are perhaps more revealing risk factors than race and gender themselves. Social
communities that value thinness, such as career fields like modeling and wrestling, are specific
causal factors. Peer and family influences also contribute a great deal to disordered eating patterns.
A mother obsessed with beauty can enforce a social expectation for thinness even more completely.
Changing standards of beauty, from a Rubenesque Venus to a waifish Twiggy, have also been cited
as causal factors. The idea that society causes anorexia is powerful, but much to simplistic to fully
explain the steady increase in cases of anorexia throughout the 20th

Taking A Look At The Big Five TV Channels
In the beginning
Not so long ago there once existed a square looking piece of equipment that ran on old analogue
technology that had pride of place amongst the furniture where all the family would sit ready to
watch their favourite programmes that the broadcast stations dictated should be aired for public
consumption. Due to lack of choice these companies had an ability to affect viewer s decision
processes through specifically defined content with minimal provision without real time viewer
interaction. This activity was a one way interaction process that was ruled by very few companies
that owned a monopoly amongst themselves obtaining revenue through guaranteed licensing of the
viewers and income through advertising where these companies could by and large predict high
viewing figures and ratings due to a lack of alternative sources of broadcasting elsewhere.
These companies had few competitors and within the UK alone there existed the big 5 channels
competing for viewers, rights to hold specific events, predominantly sporting events and
advertisers were confident of knowing that a large proportion of viewers would be watching these
events and would therefore provide a readymade audience that would see their product or service
and provide potential new sales within a defined. TV broadcasting stations were sitting comfortably,
until the advent of the digital revolution and the age of the ever increasing usage of the internet.
However, major changes became inevitable

This is also good security since you can easily just not give those people managing inventory access
to the financial database, whereas if they were stored in the same database, you would need to
configure special permissions on the data, again requiring someone with greater knowledge of
information systems than the typical business owner has. The problems for these multiple
databases arise when you realize that part of your financial information has to do with your
inventory. Getting this data out of one system and into another can be a daunting and time
consuming task. This would likely require someone to manually extract, reorganize, and import
the data, just as it did in the case of Crabby Bill s. This is expensive, as it requires someone s
time to perform these actions. It is also time consuming because the whole process could be
automated. In addition to these business reasons, there also are problems for the data itself. When
keeping data in multiple databases you run into problems of data redundancy, when information
extracted from one database is imported into another, you are keeping the same data repeatedly.
This redundancy can also lead to inconsistencies, if the data is entered incorrectly into one of your
databases or changed by one party that only has access to it on a single database and not on

The Juvenile Justice Is A Legal System
Children are often is born innocent. It is the way they are natured that determines whether they
will remain law abiding citizens or not. Barton and Butts (2008) asserts that Children who are
nurtured under tender care and attention tend to grow into law abiding citizens. According to
Scott and Steinberg (2008) several factors including mental, moral, spiritual and physical factors
can impact on a child development. The ability of children to realize their full potential is
determined by these factors. Conversely, wrong company, negligence, lack of basic needs, harmful

The term juvenile who originates from the word juvenis means young. A child or a Juvenile is

The idea remains problematic with unclear definitions and unclear rules.[3][4][5] The modern
concept of plagiarismas immoral and originality as an ideal emerged in Europe only in the 18th

Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and a breach of journalistic ethics. It is subject to

have been identified in academia.[6]
Plagiarism is not a crime per se but in academia and industry, it is a serious ethical offense,[7][8]

New advancement in technology has made it easy for many CEOs to have the opportunity to loot
their companies, and to engage in accounting irregularities. Technology has made improvements to
the way a company does business with others, and also it has opened up ethical concerns for the
way a company conducts their business. Recently, accounting professionals have been placed under

works finally gave people insight of how war really is which gave them the hope to end the war.
She also impacts people today. People continue to read Testament of Youth and it still remains one
of the best novels to capture the damage of war and its effects. Some people say that Brittain has

Comparative Similarities Of Zimbabwe And Kenya
Zimbabwe and Kenya: Comparative essay
Politics in African is one that is rich and complex in history. It is argued that the 19th century
marked the start of politics on the continent (Allen et al). By the start of the 20th century, African
rulers were increasingly interacting with European merchants, scholars and missionaries whereas
in the previous century, slavery was the main reason for contact (Allen et al). Emphasis now
shifted to developing markets for trade in minerals and raw materials. Whiles Europeans
attempted to develop a more effective colonial administration, African resentment towards colonial
presence lead to a period of political and intellectual change (Allen et al). Urban Africans began to
demand a greater say and by the 1930 s, a small elite of Africans whom had attended western
universities had emerged (Allen et al). They debated critical ideas such as self determination (Allen
et al). Key nationalist included Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya, Leopold Senghor of Senegal and Kwame
Nkrumah of Ghana (Allen et al). These figures will go on and lead the fight for independence. By
the 1960 s this fight for independence is successful and more than two thirds of African states have

Huntington s Disease Study
Huntington s disease, or HD, is a genetic neuro generative condition that is characterized by
progressive dysfunction in motor, cognitive and behavioral abilities. There are about 4 10 cases per
100,000 throughout the world, which makes it one of the most prevalent genetic neuro generative
disorders. Huntington s disease is a dominant gene mutation that occurs in the huntingtin gene. The
result is an excessive repeat of the nucleotide triad cytosine adenine guanine (CAG) and causes
damage to neurons. The striatum of the brainand the cerebral cortex are most affected by the gene
but other parts of the brain atrophy as well. Typically, onset begins around the 4th decade of life
although an early onset form can occur before the age of 20.... Show more content on

compared the metabolic profiles of pre manifest, manifest HD and control groups. The results
showed that amylin and ghrelin levels were significantly increased in all HD subjects compared to
the control group. The increase in ghrelin, an appetite stimulant, and amylin, an appetite
suppressant, demonstrates the numerous abnormalities regarding regulation of food ingestion and
absorption (Wang et al., 2014).
Another abnormality observed was a significant decrease in glucagon in the manifest HD group
compared to the control group. Glucagon plays a major role in upholding normal metabolism in
the body. It also acts as a protective agent by reducing the neurotoxic glutamate. Therefore, a
decrease in glucagon can play a significant part in the pathogenesis of Huntington s disease (Wang
et al., 2014).
Adiponectin is a hormone that is released from adipose tissue and is negatively correlated with
Body Mass Index. In HD subjects, this correlation was not significant. Decreased adiponectin
levels is usually linked with obesity and insulin resistance. These changes suggest that irregular
adipocyte function is associated with the metabolic changes in the pathophysiology of Huntington
s disease. Prolactin and total cholesterol levels were also decreased in all HD subjects and
showed erratic levels of leptin. This is likely due to impaired food digestion and absorption, which
is also supported by the increased amylin levels. Essentially, the study s findings show that HD
patients have a decreased ability to maintain metabolic homeostasis and abnormal hormone levels
(Wang et al.,

The Skippers In The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales in a collection of 24 stories while on a pilgrimage
to visit the relics of Saint Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral. The purpose behind this
pilgrimage is for the pilgrims to visit the shrine to seek forgiveness for their sins. Due to the long
trip, the host made a deal with everyone to tell two stories on the way and back from Canterburyand
whoever tells the best one receives a paid for meal. Each character telling their stories gives away
bits of information and a visual idea of who they really are. In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer uses
detail, point of view, and descriptive language to portray the Pardoner and Summoner to be worse
than the Skipper.
The Skipper begins to tell his tale by bringing light to his past and the battles he has fought in
using details. Chaucer wrote, When he fought, the enemy vessel sank, he sent his prisoners home.
(409) to give a visual of the Skippers performance in battle. In this quote Chaucer portrays the
skipper as a pirate but merciful to the people who has already defeated and and took from. He was
confident throughout his battle, never letting up until he felt like the overall goal was met. Another
example describes his demeanor and how he presents himself, Hardy he was, prudent in
undertaking. (415) during the time of his battles. In this quote Chaucer uses detail to characterize
the Skipper as confident and cautious about every move he made on and off the battlefield. It was

They always have their own agenda for everything they do . The the person with the most money
controlling the senate is the one in power. The last way politics are slimy is that they are always
stabbing each other in the back. Mr . Smith Goes to Washington shows all these factors of this
theme.
The politicians in the senate today and the politicians in the movie all have their own agenda.

The Chamber Of Commerce V. Whiting
Alexandra Kulak Issue Analysis Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting 10.24.2014 Chamber of
Commerce v. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act,
which penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required
that businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system.
Various civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce ,
claimed the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona
law. The state law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to
be stagnating. There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they
should be granted amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective
home countries. The question of how to handle their American born children is another issue
altogether. There are many moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws,
like the one in question in this court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of
illegal immigrants and legal immigrants vying for the same opportunities. The Chamber of
Commerce sued the Governor of Arizona, on the grounds that the statues in the Arizona state law
went beyond what the federal law in place allowed for. It is considered politically correct to not
discriminate, especially when it comes to the hiring in the

There are four types of leadership that are of major focus in this theory and they are:
1. Supportive Leadership: The focus here is mainly on relationships. Any or all decisions are
taken in the best interests of the team members and this kind of approach is best in conditions
where tasks are repetitive or stressful. These approaches will in turn increase the follower s self
esteem thereby making the job more interesting (Dessler, G. 2016).
2. Directive Leadership: This approach best suits the conditions where tasks or projects are
unstructured. These approaches also work good when tasks are complex and team members are
inexperienced. Further, in this approach a clear communication of goals and expectations are done.
Appropriate guidance is also given all the way through to help the subordinates to reach their goal
(Dessler, G. 2016).
3. Participative Leadership: This approach is best suited when the leaders believe in group
discussion and focus on mutual participation. This approach is also best when followers in the
team or in a group are expert and their advice is both needed and they expect to be able to give it

Roman Gladiator Speech
Speech:
What were Gladiators?
What was a Roman Gladiator?
In ancient Rome a gladiator is a man or women trained to fight with weapons against other men
/women or wild animals in an arena.
What were the different types of gladiators?
Bestiarii:
Bestiarii were combatants who fought animals, not humans. Roman emperors and senators used
exotic and powerful animals imported from Africa or Asia to show off their wealth, and put on a
spectacle for the crowds at the Colosseum. Some animals such as elephants were captured to shock
and entertain the crowds with creatures they would not have seen before.
Noxii:
Noxii were the lowest of the low in Roman society. By far the lowest class of civilians, they were
those deemed so offensive to Roman society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secutor:
Secutor was dressed in heavy armour, he had a large shield, sword, and a round helmet that
covered his whole face except for two small eye holes. A typical contest between a secutor and
retiarius would begin with the retiarius a safe distance away in some cases on a raised platform
above water with a stockpile of rocks ready to throw. A secutor would pursue the retiarius and try
to avoid being captured in the net or hit by the rocks. They would also have to avoid the retiarius
s trident which was used to keep the secutor far away. The secutor had the advantage of being
heavily armed but would also tire easily under the weight of his armour. It led to a gripping contest.
Provocator:
Provocator would only fight other provocators. The reason for this is because they challenged each
other to fight. They would fight to settle feuds between rival gladiator schools, for the sheer
competition of it, or to enhance their own status by beating a well regarded rival. To reflect the
equality, each provocator was armed in the Roman army style with large rectangular shields, a
breastplate, and helmet. The heavy armour meant that they tired quickly and it was difficult to
injure them.
Gallus:
Gallus were some of the earliest gladiators that came from the Gaul tribe of central and Western
Europe. They began fighting after being captured as prisoners. Heavily armed, they looked like the
stereotypical gladiator with

Robinson And Owens, African American Allstars Essay
Robinson and Owens, African American Allstars There are many people in the world who have
made an impact on America. Many people are known for their strength ,courage, and willingness
to fight for their beliefs. That is what Jackie Robinson and Jesse Owens have in common; they
fought for what they believed in. They broke color barriers, set records, and changed American
history. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences between Jackie and Jesse are
clear. Jackie Robinsons background and childhood environment had a major impact on the ways
he went about changing African American lives. He is famous for saying that a life is not
important except in the impact it has on other lives (Jackie 1). Jack (Jackie) Roosevelt Robinson
is famously well known for becoming the first black player in the major leagues and playing
with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. He was born on January 31, 1919, in Cairo, Georgia. He
also was the youngest of five children and he was raised by a single mother. His older brother,
Matthew, actually inspired him to pursue his dream in sports. Surprisingly, Matthew won a silver
medal in the 200 meter dash, just behind Jesse Owens in the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin.
Jackie went to John Muir High School and Pasadena Junior College, which are the places where
he played a various amount of sports growing up. His reputation as a household name began to

Newer Car Customer impression
Lease A new car would be positive impression because the it could represent an image of success
and excellent business practice (Montoya, 2017).
Purchase As expected, the new vehicle would have a positive impression to customers. However,
in the long run, the car depreciates in value. An old and deteriorated car could give a negative
signal to customers regarding the company s business practice (Montoya, 2017).
3.E.Down payment
Lease According to Montoya (2017), you can have low or no down payment Purchase McNew
(2016) wrote, a potential drawback of buying is a sizeable down payment. Many lenders require 10
to 20 percent down when taking out a car loan. On a $30,000 vehicle, that s $3000 to $6000.

Essay On NAFTA
When countries have needs but not the capacity to satisfy those demands they enter into trading

United States created a treaty to establish a relationship that can benefit everyone in this process

economy more than helping. Although speculations may be misguided, I do not know much about
this agreement, and I must research multiple sources. This paper seeks to understand if NAFTA has

The NAFTA Secretariat facilitates an informal resolution between the parties. If this doesn t work,
it establishes a panel to review the dispute helping all parties to avoid costly lawsuits in local

respect patents, trademarks, and copyrights. At the same time, the agreement ensures that these
intellectual property rights don t interfere with trade. Sixth, the deal allows business travelers easy
access throughout all three countries. NAFTA has two other agreements that update the original.
The North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation supports the enforcement of
environmental laws. The North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation protects working
conditions.
NAFTA increased the competitiveness of these three countries in the global marketplace. It allows
them to better compete with China and the European Union. In 2007, the EU replaced the United
States as the world s largest economy. In 2015, China replaced both. It took three U.S. presidents
to put NAFTA together. President Ronald Reagan kicked it off during his campaign in 1980. He
wanted to unify the North American market to better compete with the EU. In 1984, Congress
passed the Trade and Tariff Act. That gave the president fast track authority to negotiate free trade
agreements. It permits Congress only the ability to approve or disapprove. Congress

The Education Reform Movement
Education Reform Movement
Ever since I was a young girl, I dreamed of having a career that helped people. Growing up I had
two younger siblings and I would help my mother take care of them as much as I could. I really
enjoyed it and decided I wanted to become a nurse that worked with infants. I told my mother
about my dream, I was nine years old at the time and she just gave me a heartbroken look and said,
That may never be able to come true because that job requires schooling and any type of education
is far out of our family s budget. I was upset to be informed that. That night I heard my mother and
father saying that they believe at least grade school should be open to the public. The next day me

  • 3. Stealing Should Have Taught You Essay When you were younger, your parents tried to teach you or should have tried to teach you that stealing is wrong and could get you in trouble. The definition of stealing, according to Webster s dictionary, is to take another person s property without permission or legal right without intending to return it. Another thing parents should have taught you is the lesson on losing thing. Don t misplace that, you might need it later! or Don t forget where that whatever it was is! and hopefully you learned! The definition of losing, this also according to Webster s dictionary, is to be unable to find. What happens when you mix the two? See, to this day, I don t count it as stealing. As a young child my interest was aviation instead of going to museums, parks, or doing any other activities, my personal interest was spending time at the airport seeing planes takeoff and land. • 8. James Bushy On October 28, 1835, James Bushy who was appointed to be a British Resident by the Crown and chiefs from Northland singed a Declaration of Independence in Waitangi. According to Walker(1990), the initial motivation of Declaration was that a trade ship of Aotearoa/New Zealand was impounded in Sydney because of not flying a flag. The King of England was petitioned to provide protection from foreign invasion by 13 leading chiefs from North. After that, Bushy and other 34 chiefs signed the Declaration of Independence (p.88). There were four parts to the Declaration of Independence. The first clause is that the chiefs announced to be an Independent State under the United Tribes of Aotearoa/New Zealand. The second clause is that all sovereign power and authority belong to the hereditary chiefs and heads of tribes. The third clause is that the hereditary chiefs and heads of tribes consent to meet in Congress at Waitangi annual. The fourth clause is that they also consent to send a copy of the Declaration to the King of England to show their gratitude. Walker(1990) pointed out that Busby and Henry Williams equated the word mana with sovereignty and power in the translation of the Declaration. After five years, it became to an important point under the Treaty of Waitangi. In, 1836, tribal fighting resumed.Between 1838 and 1839, there were that 2000 Europeans ... • 9. Peppered Moth Essay The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the 1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light, medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it works by using several pen update commands which execute the global variables (light, medium, dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The setup and go button would help prepare the world with the specific amount of moths, and run the stimulation respectively. The mutation slider would control the mutation rate of the moths changing color. A lower mutation rate establish a correlation between the color of the parent moth and the color of the offspring, whereas a high mutation rate like 100% represent that the color of the parent moth and the offspring do not necessary have to be related. Moreover, the selection slider determine the survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0 percent, the ever moth have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the moth to camouflage is very important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution levels in the environment, much like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to manually manipulate the pollution levels of the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider would control the rate at which the pollution level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100 being the fastest. Lastly, the monitors would document either the total amount of moths, the number of moths for each three types of color, the pollution rate, or the time as shown by the number of ... • 10. Food Apps And The Apple App With technology nowadays, the production and use applications, or simply apps, have become widely popular. Being that I am a Computer Science major, and have myself created a mobile application and a handful of web applications, I know the power of this stuff and how they are able to reach and affect millions of people all over the planet. As wise ones once said: With great power comes great responsibility. We must create and use this technology boom and creation of applications to benefit human life, not harm it. I believe we started to do this with the creation of foodapps. The power to spread beneficial knowledge about food can reach everyone with the tap of a finger. Healthy food practices and the awareness of organic foods can change people lives through an app. However, some food apps fail to do such. Some apps are more profit focussed rather than morality focused. I will cover the strengths and weaknesses of three food apps in the Apple App Store, one Monterey Bay Aquarium s SeafoodWatch, EAT24, and Yummly. First we will go over Seafood Watch. The first weakness I immediately notice (note this may be a biased opinion based on my app development experience) is the user interface. The app is not all that pretty, and nowadays the top apps are also the most beautiful. Besides that, the applications contents are really good. I am able to search for different kinds of seafood, and also learn a lot about that particular breed of fish. On the home screen, there is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They possess a sense of entitlement because they believe they are becoming close to millionaires and the Pyncheon inheritors are willing to do anything to obtain the fortune. You should use the words polar, non polar, hydrogen bonds, cohesion, adhesion, surface tension and other vocabulary words as much as possible when explaining your answers. 1. What causes water to be a polar molecule? Water is a polar molecule because of its polar covalent bonds. In a water molecule, two hydrogen atoms are covalently bonded to one oxygenatom. However, due to the oxygen atom being more electronegative than the hydrogen atoms, the bonds between the oxygen and hydrogen atoms are polar covalent bonds. Since the oxygen atom is more electronegative, the shared electrons between the two different... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to get rid of its electrons, a Magnesium atom needs to give them to another a chlorine atom that needs one electron to fill it valence shell. Magnesium has two electrons, which means that it needs two chlorine atoms to help dispose of its electrons. This ionic bond creates a Mg+2 ion and two Cl 1 ions (Mg+2Cl2 1). When this compound is dissolved in water, the oxygen atom is attracted to the magnesium atom and the hydrogen atoms are attracted to the chlorine atoms, due to their opposite charges. As the MgCl2 compound enters the water, the water molecules surround and separate all the ions, due to the opposite poles attracting. This dissociates the compound. Teacher directed experience This observation part took place during circle time. The children sat down in a large circle carpet, each on a letter. One of the teachers sat directly across the children, with her back facing the calendar. The other teacher sat down in between two children. All the windows were open and there was music playing softly in the background, as they got ready to start. Teacher began by singing and playing the Good morning song, while signing the song. Children follow the teacher and began to sing, and make movements with their hands to follow along. They proceeded by singing the days of the week, months of the year, What s the weather songs. Following by going over the seasons, month and day of the week. Consequently, teacher followed by reading a story for the children. She used a felt board to assist her with the story. She read, Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. She smiled as she told the story, and tucked the monkeys behind her back as they fell off. Teacher provided opportunities for children to collaborate on solving how many monkeys were left. The children were engaged in the story, and smiled and sang as she told the story. By far, her favorite part of Quercasia, at least in the mornings and at night, was how soft the beds were. For someone who had grown up sleeping on top of stone with a little hay, the comfort of a bed was a luxury she adored. Nonetheless, her roommate wasn t all too interested in her stillness. She had a mission, and that mission was to get her best friend out of bed. Samantha? she asked one more time, If you don t get out of bed, I will do something you won t like. Other than the fact that Edgar was there, which made the trip worth it for her, she was totally clueless as to what he was planning. Needless to say, she stepped into the training hall anyway without a second thought. Spying around the room, she found Edgar with his sword up, practicing his thrusts with a dummy. He was able to make ten slices with his cutlass in five seconds, each slice perfectly straight and parallel to the others. His technique was so perfect that he may as well have been cutting plaid lines into the thing. S Sallo, Edgar? called out Sam. Edgar turned out, purring so loudly that it could be heard from twenty feet away. Miss Sam! he called. You re here! Grinning, she ran up to him, her tails flowing around like a sea anemone. Above all, its specific properties have not yet been fully exploited, which can be partially attributed to a shortage of easily available statistical methods in the past and a lack of awareness on the side of the researchers. In the following sections we will first discuss the properties of various measurement scales and subsequently focus on the continuous rating scale in online surveys in more detail. Sub3 sequently we discuss the problem of outliers and nonsense data in survey research and apply classical and robust factor analysis to our data sample. Finally, we simulate the occurrence of outliers („noise‟) in our data set and illustrate how different levels of noise impact the results of factor analytic procedures. Measurement Scaling The usage of surveys in IS research has been heavily criticized in the past for lack of psychometric rigor and appropriate modeling techniques. In order to remedy this problem, general standards for conducting surveys have to be improved and constantly questioned (Pinsonneault Kraemer, 1993; Newsted et al., 1996). When constructing a questionnaire, researchers are confronted with the task of finding an appropriate scale to measure the construct(s) under investigation. Usually this is done by consulting previous literature and adopting a set of items which has been previously tested for validity and reliability. A

The Pros And Cons Of Prime Minister Borden Prime minister Borden was wrong in passing military service act of 1917 being that all mentally and physically stable men age 20 45 is forced to enlist in the military. He was wrong in conscripting the french Canadians because it limited their french Canadian culture secondly it limited democracy toward them and lastly there was no real reason for conscription in the first place. Firstly The military service act was passed in the year 1917 by prime minister Borden, who was a great nationalist and wanted to make sure that his country was well protected. But when you are being forced to enlist you will not have a real passion, or feel patriotic towards your nation because that person is being forced to enlist they will not feel loyal to their nation anymore, The opposing point states that nationalism helps keep a country protected, and that enlisting people will make canada seem larger. Secondaly when a young french canadian boy is being conscripted/enlisted they will not be physically and mentally prepared for what they were going to do , and what they will observe while serving in the military . Issue #1 Under Texas law, can evidence found during a traffic stop be excluded because the stop in question was for what would be considered a very minor offense? Issue #2 Under Texas law, can evidence seized during a stop for a minor traffic violation be excluded based on the prolonged continuation of said traffic stop? Issue #3 Under Texas law, can evidence seized during a routine traffic stop be excluded based on consent to search, when it is not clear whether consent was voluntarily given? Brief Answer Issue #1 Under Texas law, can evidence found during a traffic stop be excluded because the stop in question was for what would be considered a very minor offense? No, police officers are justified in making a traffic stop whenever they witness a traffic violation. Mr. Caulfield did commit traffic infractions, and no matter how minor the violations, Officer Campbell was justified in stopping him for those infractions. The ideal family of the 1950 s was the dad was the head of the household, he brought the paycheck, the mom did the cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children and the kids were well behaved and courteous. In the 1950s the age for marrying had decreased from 24 for men to 22 and 21 for women to 20. This was due mainly to the war which caused uncertainty in young couple s lives. Many women took wartime jobs and they got to experience a sense of freedom they had never known before, when the war was over they were pressured to return back to their domestic roles. Eventually being someone s bride and wife was once again the goal of most women but one third of women still made up the work force. The 1950s is viewed as a time of conformity for both men and women. Women were much pressured to keep the family entity strong and together. The way to do this best was by remaining at home to take care of her husband and children, and refusing to pursue a career or go in the work force, or so they said. Working women were paid much less than men and were still regarded as meek and inferior beings. • 26. Three Main Reasons For The Abolition Of The Atlantic Slave... The abolition of the Atlantic slave trade. The aim of this essay is to evaluate the reasons for the abolition of the Atlantic slave trade as well as conclude on what I determine to be the main reason for the abolition. I will consider the three main factors; The influence of William Wilberforce in parliament, The abolitionist campaign and its influence on public opinion, as well as slave resistance and rebellion. The trade took place throughout the years of the 15th century and continued through to the 19th century. The trade involved Europeans taking goods from Europe such as weapons and fabric to Africa which they would trade for the brutal capture of men, women and children from their homes and countries, these people would then be taken to countries in north and south America on slave ships where they lived in terrible, cramped and diseased conditions for months as they travelled through the middle passage. When they arrived in America they would be forced to work in awful conditions on plantations in order to produce goods such as sugar, cotton and tobacco. Which would then be transported back to Europe. William Wilberforce was born in 1759. He grew up very privileged and became very popular and well known for his eloquent, witty and powerful speeches and was elected to the house of commons aged only 21. Wilberforce then used his platform to advocate for many causes such as education reform. Wilberforce began to focus his efforts on the abolition of the slave trade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although these depictions of Germany may be true, they are relatively closed minded because they only depict a single, relatively dark time period in Germany s history called the Third Reich. During this time period, the true state of its people and country were portrayed through film. One of the most iconic films of the Weimar Republic, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, was released in 1919. This mysterious, yet incredibly confusing film embodied the anxiety and uncertainty felt by German citizens during the Weimar Republic. Specifically anxiety related to current and future chaos, and uncertainty related to sanity. In The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, the protagonist Francis narrates a past experience of his in which he ends up wrongfully locked up in a psychiatric ward. In this past experience, a man introduced as the somnambulist Dr. Caligari controlled a man named Cesare, and had Cesare kill people of his choosing. Trying to expose Dr. Caligari s acts, Francis ends up being locked up in a psychiatric ward. What is odd is that Dr. Caligari is then shown as the doctor running the psychiatric ward, trying to help Francis with his condition. The duality of Dr. Caligari symbolized uncertainty and chaos experienced by Germans after World War I. Like the audience of the film, Germans questioned who was or was not sane. Unfortunately, different areas of the business got different pieces of technology to assist in that growth, and those pieces did not interact with each other. This became a burden for the Chief Financial and Technical Office, Luis Campuzano. Eventually, the company hired a third party programmer to write a custom application that could interpret the data between the databases and allow FileMaker Pro software to query all of them at once (Rainer, 2012). Crabby Bill s developed different databases to manage the different types of data that they were using. They had databases for financial information, keeping track of inventory, and others. This is also good security since you can easily just not give those people managing inventory access to the financial database, whereas if they were stored in the same database, you would need to configure special permissions on the data, again requiring someone with greater knowledge of information systems than the typical business owner has. The problems for these multiple databases arise when you realize that part of your financial information has to do with your inventory. Getting this data out of one system and into another can be a daunting and time consuming task. This would likely require someone to manually extract, reorganize, and import the data, just as it did in the case of Crabby Bill s. This is expensive, as it requires someone s time to perform these actions. It is also time consuming because the whole process could be automated. In addition to these business reasons, there also are problems for the data itself. When keeping data in multiple databases you run into problems of data redundancy, when information extracted from one database is imported into another, you are keeping the same data repeatedly. This redundancy can also lead to inconsistencies, if the data is entered incorrectly into one of your databases or changed by one party that only has access to it on a single database and not on ... • 44. Comparative Similarities Of Zimbabwe And Kenya Zimbabwe and Kenya: Comparative essay Politics in African is one that is rich and complex in history. It is argued that the 19th century marked the start of politics on the continent (Allen et al). By the start of the 20th century, African rulers were increasingly interacting with European merchants, scholars and missionaries whereas in the previous century, slavery was the main reason for contact (Allen et al). Emphasis now shifted to developing markets for trade in minerals and raw materials. Whiles Europeans attempted to develop a more effective colonial administration, African resentment towards colonial presence lead to a period of political and intellectual change (Allen et al). Urban Africans began to demand a greater say and by the 1930 s, a small elite of Africans whom had attended western universities had emerged (Allen et al). They debated critical ideas such as self determination (Allen et al). Key nationalist included Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya, Leopold Senghor of Senegal and Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana (Allen et al). These figures will go on and lead the fight for independence. There are about 4 10 cases per 100,000 throughout the world, which makes it one of the most prevalent genetic neuro generative disorders. Huntington s disease is a dominant gene mutation that occurs in the huntingtin gene. The result is an excessive repeat of the nucleotide triad cytosine adenine guanine (CAG) and causes damage to neurons. The striatum of the brainand the cerebral cortex are most affected by the gene but other parts of the brain atrophy as well. Typically, onset begins around the 4th decade of life although an early onset form can occur before the age of 20.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... compared the metabolic profiles of pre manifest, manifest HD and control groups. The results showed that amylin and ghrelin levels were significantly increased in all HD subjects compared to the control group. The increase in ghrelin, an appetite stimulant, and amylin, an appetite suppressant, demonstrates the numerous abnormalities regarding regulation of food ingestion and absorption (Wang et al., 2014). Another abnormality observed was a significant decrease in glucagon in the manifest HD group compared to the control group. Glucagon plays a major role in upholding normal metabolism in the body. It also acts as a protective agent by reducing the neurotoxic glutamate. Therefore, a decrease in glucagon can play a significant part in the pathogenesis of Huntington s disease (Wang et al., 2014). Adiponectin is a hormone that is released from adipose tissue and is negatively correlated with Body Mass Index. In HD subjects, this correlation was not significant. Decreased adiponectin levels is usually linked with obesity and insulin resistance. These changes suggest that irregular adipocyte function is associated with the metabolic changes in the pathophysiology of Huntington s disease. Prolactin and total cholesterol levels were also decreased in all HD subjects and showed erratic levels of leptin. This is likely due to impaired food digestion and absorption, which is also supported by the increased amylin levels. Essentially, the study s findings show that HD patients have a decreased ability to maintain metabolic homeostasis and abnormal hormone levels (Wang et al., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Skippers In The Canterbury Tales Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales in a collection of 24 stories while on a pilgrimage to visit the relics of Saint Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral. The purpose behind this pilgrimage is for the pilgrims to visit the shrine to seek forgiveness for their sins. Due to the long trip, the host made a deal with everyone to tell two stories on the way and back from Canterburyand whoever tells the best one receives a paid for meal. Each character telling their stories gives away bits of information and a visual idea of who they really are. The Skipper begins to tell his tale by bringing light to his past and the battles he has fought in using details. Chaucer wrote, When he fought, the enemy vessel sank, he sent his prisoners home. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act, which penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required that businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system. Various civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce , claimed the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona law. The state law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to be stagnating. There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they should be granted amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective home countries. The question of how to handle their American born children is another issue altogether. There are many moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws, like the one in question in this court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of illegal immigrants and legal immigrants vying for the same opportunities. A secutor would pursue the retiarius and try to avoid being captured in the net or hit by the rocks. They would also have to avoid the retiarius s trident which was used to keep the secutor far away.
