This document summarizes challenges in measuring information systems effectiveness and proposes models to do so. It discusses problems like differing measures and system types. It then describes DeLone and McLean's model which evaluates six factors of system quality, information quality, use, user satisfaction, individual impact and organizational impact. A case study shows implementing a student information system required customizing a purchased system for a university's specific needs. The document concludes by suggesting ways organizations can improve their systems effectiveness.
