Once upon a time, there lived two cats near a village.
They were close friends. They played together, slept
together, and went everywhere together.
Pada suatu masa dahulu, tinggal dua ekor kucing
berhampiran sebuah kampung. Mereka berkawan rapat.
mana-mana bersama-sama.
4. 4
Suddenly one day there was no food for both the cats.
The two cats went in search of food. After some time,
they found a loaf of bread.
Tiba-tiba satu hari tiada makanan untuk kedua-dua
kucing itu.Kedua-dua kucing itu pergi mencari
makanan. Selepas beberapa lama, mereka menjumpai
sebuku roti.
5. 5
They both wanted the bread as they were very hungry.
They began to fight over it. One cat said, "I found it
first, it’s mine." The other cat said, "No I found it first,
give it to me.”
Mereka berdua mahukan roti itu kerana mereka sangat lapar.
Mereka mula bergaduh kerananya. Seekor kucing berkata, "Saya
jumpa dulu, itu milik saya." Kucing yang lain berkata, "Tidak, saya
jumpa dulu, berikan kepada saya."
6. 6
A monkey in the tree seeing them fighting said to himself, “It will
be great if I get that bread. It looks yummy."
He came to the cats and said, "Friends, why are you quarreling?
I will settle your fight.” Both the cats agreed to his proposal.
Seekor monyet di atas pokok melihat mereka bergaduh berkata
kepada dirinya sendiri, “Alangkah baiknya jika saya mendapat roti
itu. Nampak sedap.” Dia datang kepada kucing-kucing itu dan
berkata, "Kawan-kawan kenapa kamu bergaduh? Saya akan
selesaikan pergaduhan kamu." Kedua-dua kucing itu bersetuju
dengan cadangannya.
7. 7
The monkey split the bread into two uneven pieces.
One piece was large and the other piece was small.
Then he ate a portion from the larger piece.
rata.Sekeping besar dan sekeping lagi kecil. Kemudian
dia makan sebahagian daripada bahagian
yang lebih besar.
8. 8
But this made the other piece larger.
So it took a bite from the other piece. Repeating this
trickery, the monkey ate the whole loaf of bread.
Tetapi ini menjadikan bahagian lain lebih besar.Jadi ia
mengambil gigitan dari bahagian lain. Mengulangi
muslihat ini, monyet itu memakan keseluruhan roti.
No More
Bread left!
9. 9
The monkey climbed back to the tree laughing at the
cats. The two foolish cats were not able
to eat anything. They cried.
Monyet naik semula ke pokok sambil mentertawakan
kucing. Kedua-dua kucing bodoh itu tidak dapat makan
apa-apa. Mereka menangis.

insincere. They cheat, trick and swindle.
Berhati-hati dengan orang yang tidak jujur dan

Once there was a milkmaid who loved
daydreaming about everything. She took good
care of her cows on the farm, and the cows would
give her fresh and creamy milk every day.
13. 13
She used to milk her cow every day and sell the milk in
the market. The Milkmaid carried her milk in a pail on
her head to the market. As she was walking, she would
start daydreaming about the money she would be
getting for selling the milk.
Dia pernah memerah susu lembunya setiap hari dan menjual
susu itu di pasar. Pembantu Susu itu membawa susunya
dalam baldi di atas kepalanya ke pasar. Semasa dia berjalan,
14. 14
She thought, "I will buy fifty hens from the market. Once the
hens lay eggs, I will sell them for money. With that money, I
will buy a nice dress and wear it to the fair. Men will want to
talk to me, and women will be jealous of me.”
pameran. Lelaki akan mahu bercakap dengan saya, dan
wanita akan cemburu dengan saya."
15. 15
As she was daydreaming, she tripped on a stone
and fell. The pail fell on the ground,
and the milk spilt over her.
The Milkmaid cried all the way back to the farm.
Semasa dia mengelamun, dia tersandung batu dan
jatuh.
atasnya.Milkmaid menangis sepanjang perjalanan
pulang ke ladang.
