Having goal is also a motivation factor, it gives us a reason to work.

You can work in a company without having a professional goal, but
your work only benefit the company, not you.
Knowing your goal, allows you to work for the good of the company and for your
own good.

It can be, if you are over ambitious in the goal you set,
and not able to do a correct S.W.I.M
To not succeed to achieve a goal can be demotivating, but if it happens, always ask
yourself :
“Did I set a goal to high?”
“Did I make the correct professional choices to reach the goal”
“Am I honest in my S.W.I.M test?”
“Can I set a new goal, that I can succeed to achieve?”
