  14. 14. Workplace should be prepared e.g. well-stocked work station , welcome package, name plate , computer, e-mail accounts & phone, parking information, first day agenda, names of staff, etc….

  24. 24. The new hire will be benefit from job-shadowing, and will need constant mentoring
  25. 25. Measure productivity as the new hire is able to operate in the group and communicate more
  26. 26. Have a 3month review to solicit and give specific feedback to assist the new employee in setting priorities and achieve required performance
  27. 27. Employees will be more involved in their work groups and they would expect to receive clear performance feedback
  28. 28. Manager should solicit feedback to learn how engaged or connected the new hire feels to the organization and their workgroup
  29. 29. Make sure employees actually are becoming productive
  30. 30. Have a discussion of what contributions or different job design the employee may be thinking about for the future
  31. 31. Managers should formally recognize and celebrate the employees first year achievements.
  32. 32. Refine the Development Plan to address skill , performance and training gaps
  33. 33. Solicit feedback on the on-boarding process to be able fine tune it and incorporate the employee’s suggestions
