2. For this i am planning to make a double page spread for my media magazine. I am hoping to create it to a high standard so that it does look like a professional copy rather than a student made copy. I am hoping from this i am more confident with creating magazines and will help me in the future.
3. Colour shceme I have chosen these colours for my double page spread as these are the colours that i have previously used in my front cover and double page spread. By doing this shows that i am following conventions by using the same colours. As i know that some magazines have thier main image on the front cover and when you turn to the double page spread, they have used a total differnt colour scheme which idont think is a good thing to do. Also as Amie is a metal/rock chick the red in these colours stand out and convay to her hair colour. As her hair is red it shows that this article is 100% about her.
4. Fonts that i am planning to use Wide Latin Times New Roman. Britannic Bold Seogoe print Comic sans Stencil
5. Mode of Address For this article i am going to be letting Amie do all the talking so its going to be informal as thats how she talks. This is a good thing as it shows that its really here not some “drugged up whore”. Also its showing she has changed and this is her time to speak up to the people and not have them judge her as much.
22. From looking at some of the double page spreads idont think that they have enough infomation in them. As i brought the recent edition of KERRANG! And it had 22 out of i think 88 pages of interviewes and double or single page spreads, the rest of it was either gig guides ( idont count them) advertisement or more advertisement. But i am planning to create four pages as i want to have a cover page, one page with a picture covering one page and two pages with some pictures on and lots of texts explaining how she has changed.
24. I am hhoping that these two exsamples will help me when i am creating my double page spread. As i do have the Olisykesintervieew on my bedroom wall, which gave me the idea to create a cover page. The My Chemical Romance interview is amazing how it has been displayed as the fotns and the colours really make it feel rocky and there being truthful . I am hoping to create a page like this
25. Double page spread cover page 1st draft This is the 1st draft for my double page spread I got the idea for this from Kerrnag! As they usually do this and create 6 4-6 pages for a double page spread. I do think that it is a good thing to do as its almost like welcoming you into the interview. Its almost like teasing you into reading on. I do like the image that I have planned to use and I hope that I can capture this. I'm unsure on the amount of text that I have used here. As I do think that there is far to much for this image its almost taking the focus away from the image and saying focus on me? I'm unsure on whether to use this or not.
26. Draft 2 I prefer this one as there is less text on this page and the focus is on the image and the heading. Which I think is a good thing. As the text on the side is just a quote so it shouldn't be to much in focus. As I want the story line on the next page to be the main focus. The image on this page is going to be in black and white and heading “Love her” will have “hate her” will have “hate” under “her” as I think it fit in well with the image. And the text is going to be in black so it stands out against the grey image.
27. 1st page of double page spread I think that I may use this one as I think that it uses up the most space and the text isn't to squished and isn't wasting as much space as the next draft. I like the fact that there is an A4 image and that there is a small quote so that its not taking the focus away from the main image. The image on the 2nd side, I think relates better to the story than the image on the next page as yes she is smiling but its overloading the page. The use of Puff and pull quotes is proportioned well I am pleased with this design than the other one as I think that everything is placed a lot better here.
28. 2nd draft of double page spread Need to scan in I'm not too keen on this one as I think that there are far to many pull quotes for the 1st page and it wouldn't be the best use of space that's available. I do like the fact that there is an A4 image so its almost like Amie’s having more of an impact on the story than if I had placed the two pages of writing on this page. I'm not keen with the slanted image of her smiling maybe this is to much for this story I think I may not use this one as there is too much going on and it may overload the reader with too much and they may choose to read other stories in the magazine.
29. 2nd page of double page spread draft 1 This is the 1st draft of the 4th page on my double page spread. I think that this is ok, but I don't think that I've designed the best use of the space. I think that I should get rid of most of the pull quotes as its to much as I don't need as many as its just wasting space, which could be used to make the story more interesting. The 2nd draft to me looks a lot better than this one. Considering this is Amie’s come back I don't think that I have used all the space that I can for her story. As I should maybe use a maximum of 3 pull quotes or just 2? As I don't need them as the font will be too stretched across the page and wont make the people take as much interest into the story than if I use less pull quotes. I like it when the text goes around the pull quote as it fits into the story more or when the pull quote goes into two columns as then it connects the story a lot more than on one column.
30. 2nd draft This is my 2nd draft and in my opinion is a lot better than my 1st one. As I don't have as many pull quotes, well I have two. This looks a lot better than the other one as I have one of them taking up two columns which is bring the story closer together. Also the reader can focus more eon the story and is having to re-read less less as pull quotes are bits of information from the story and I do think they will enjoy this a lot more than if it was the 1st draft .
31. What i will be using in order for me to create my double page spread I will be using dafont, www.dafont.com I will be using indesign to create my four pages as i feel this will give me the best quality and more marks for my ICT I might use other free font websites so that i can gain more metal and gothic fonts for my magazine
32. The story line Basically everyone in the music industry isnt too pleased with her behaviour and how she has been towards the fans ( i got this idea from how Oli Sykes has been etc) and shes just came out of Rehab and is refelcting on what she has done and why it wasnt her who did all the stuff. Matt did. As she had loads of fans to being with and when Living for the dead became huge, he got her onto drugs, alcohol, tattoos, having sex all the time and taking naked pictures of her self. But she is a changed person raising money for the earth quake and tsunami victims and is hoping people and her haters will realise it was Matt not her
33. The interview Well I don't want to do the whole ask a question and they reply with answer. This was Amie’s time to shine, her time to speak to the world about what she had been through. As i think this is a better way rather than ask her, why did you take all these pictures or how are you. This isn't the best way to find out. But giving her two pages to reflect upon what she's been through will enable fans to listen, well read what she's been through
35. Joining Living For The Dead was the biggest mistake of my life that I have made so far. I just can’t believe all the stuff that I have done to myself and to what was once all of my loyal fans. I just feel like everywhere I go, people hate me for what I’ve done. But for a matter of fact Matt made me into that Monster. That horrible, terrible person, I will never ever be able to forgive him for that. I just couldn’t understand why people were hating me till I asked someone up on stage to sing with us and I asked him why he hated me and he told me what I was like. It shocked me as I didn’t know I had done all of that stuff to myself and had naked pictures of myself exposed all over the internet. By that time I was on god knows what I think cocaine or the pill :S. But if I did have control of myself, my god, I wouldn’t have done any of that. I had such a wonderful upbringing, I got top grades, went to college and joined a band. I thought I had it all till Matt asked me to be the lead singer of his band, at that time back in 2009, we were really close and having on and off late night session together which carried out to the morning. I just feel like I’ve lost two whole years of my life and what have I got to show for it?? Some measly tattoos, naked pictures and millions of fans hating me. Guys I’m sorry for what I did, I mean Matt did to me! But I shouldn’t be sorry really, he’s such an utter dick, he’s the one to hate he’s the one to blame. He got me on weed in May 2009 and from then and till September 2010 I just can’t remember a thing. I just don’t know why he would do such a thing to me. Just why, Matt? I’ve just came out of 5 amazing months in rehab, I’m probably one of the few who enjoyed their experience, apparently at the beginning I was one of the worse that they had seen, but I was quick to recover and stayed an extra month just to make sure I was ready for the world. I’m still having counselling now, which I think is a good thing as its helping me come to terms with what the drugs and drink did to me and helping me cope with the haters. Currently at the moment I’m helping raise 5 Million through charity gigs and events and sales etc for the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.im hoping people of the world will realise what a bad person Matt was and they shouldn’t hate me for what he did. (Currently Amie and friends have raised 2.5 million in 3 months) “I’m just hoping that Avenged the Living will be a new start so the world can see I’m Amie not that drunken drugged up whore that Matt made me into”
40. Evaluation Overall i am pleased with my final outcome. I know that i was supposed to create only two pages but i really liked the idea of having a cover page for it as i think that this is reallyty effective for double page spreads its almost bringing you into it more. I am happy with the colour scheme it looks a lot better than i thought it would look as ididnt think it would work, but it has. I got the idea for this from Olisykes & My Chemical Romance’s interviews with Kerrang! As i feel that they were really inspiring for me. The images i feel really show how happy Amie is right now and fit in with the text. The text its self i had a few issues with but im happy with the final outcomes of them.
