2. We asked three people to watch our documentary, gave
them questionnaires to fill in and also filmed their
responses. Here are some quotes of what they thought.
‘I thought the documentary was really interesting, just little things like
the opening sequence, the way you sped up the people walking, I thought
it was really professional and it put a good feeling towards the rest of the
documentary’
‘I liked the opening sequence because I thought it was a good start for
the documentary’
‘I don’t think I would change anything because I thought everything
worked really well together’
‘The things I liked about the documentary was the different camera shots
at the beginning of the people walking around and the shots from
different angles and places around the area.’
3. Negative Feedback
‘The one thing I would change is one of the
interviews where the guy wasn’t in a rule of
thirds shot, he was looking away from the
camera instead of across the camera’
‘The thing I disliked was that it was more of an
advert than a documentary because it wasn’t
very long’
(We later explained that 5 minutes was the length we were
supposed to make it)
4. I learnt from the audience feedback that
shots need to be planned better and then
not rushed when it comes down to actually
shooting them. I think the poor shot was a
result of us not having spent as much time
as we could have planning the individual
interviews so I now know how important it
is to have a strict plan and to stick to it.
However, I also learned that a lot of things
that we did worked very well and people
enjoyed them such as the opening
sequence and the different montages
throughout.
