1. Topic - Behind the scenes of the BBC
Type of documentary – Mixed
Channel - BBC1
Scheduling -Wednesday 7:30pm
Target audience - 25+ (Male & Female)
2. Primary Research:
The people that we are aiming to have in our interviews
are Susanna Reid, Bill Turnbull, camera and editing staff,
studio managers, catering staff, security staff, radio
presenters. The location in which we have chosen to film
is the Media City in Salford Quays. The building in which
we will conduct our interviews in will be the BBC's
flagship building within Media City. We will need to
arrange what time the presenters are able to interview
and also gain access to the building. We will need to
know where about in the building we will be able to film
and how we can set up the mise en scene in the
interviews.
3. Secondary Research:
We will be researching when the BBC made the move to
Salford, the amount of staff it has taken on since it has
moved and the total cost of the move. We will also be
researching the amount of viewers BBC breakfast
regularly receives and if certain presenters effect the
amount of views. We will also research the cost of
equipment which is used on a regular basis such as
cameras, editing software and sound tech. We will also
research the pre recorded audio that we will use over
our documentary e.g. Music.
4. Narrative Structure:
The narrative will be non-linear as it won't
be following any dis-chronological order. It
will also be single strand and a closed
documentary. It will be made up of
interviews and actuality footage.
