Since our last presentation Maihiihi School has purchased brand
new up-to-date ICT equipment.
This includes
A camera for each teacher
2 interactive data projectors
14 new laptops

applications on our ICT students share
their strengths and knowledge with
others.
5. Finding Information
• Researching on the computer.
• Using our cameras to photograph the
habitat of insects and nature.
• Using the internet.
• Skyping experts.
• Using email to converse with other
schools.
• Checking information for relevance
and accuracy.
• It is one thing to find information but
we also need to know how to use it.
6. Resourcing the learning
• To enable the staff and students to
learn with and through technologies
within our school by making all our
technologies accessible and
maintained in good working order.
• Allocating more time and
recognising the importance of ICT in
students learning and making the
choice to include it more in our
planning and implementation of
lessons.
• Encourage the use of ICT everyday
7. Students as Leaders
• All students but initially the older
students are trained to be tech
angels.
• Tech angels are students who
scaffold the learning of ICT skills
and knowledge of other students.
• Students have to learn how to use
their oral language skills to teach
others.
8. Our purchasing plan will include
• Interactive work station in our junior class
• Data projector for our library
• More new laptops
• Training
9. Next learning steps
• Up grading teacher skills and knowledge about
the applications available and how to
implement them in our teaching
• Establish and maintain a safe blog site where
students can share their learning with a
community audience.
• Continue to create a learning community.
