Classroom Champions mentors make a difference in the lives of my students. This presentation shares ideas on how we integrate these mentors into our civics and social activism work in our classroom.

Classroom Champions Using the Power of Mentor Connection to Inspire Social Action Janet Ilko Health Sciences Middle School San Diego, California
The challenge in all classrooms is time. Look at the lessons through a lens of inclusion, how does this enhance what I am already doing? Integrate Standards Connecting the lessons to the curriculum, and to the world in which they live. Classroom Champions is the key to empowering kids to reach higher.. Find Connections Produce media, not just consume media. Use media to build the bridge between the athlete and the students. Use Technology Middle School students need many mentors in their lives. Defining the term helps kids identify mentors that are all around them. Defining Mentorship Making Classroom Champions Work
