selling document containing:

– Relevant skills, qualities and achievements
– Names and addresses of people willing to
provide a reference

Principles
• Clearly expressed – 7Cs
• Well set out for easy to browse
• Concise and relevant
Basic Formats
• Chronological - Use when experience is consistent
• Functional - Use when experience is less
straightforward - breaks
• General - covers all major achievements and skills.
• Specific CV for Specific purpose

6. CV Checklists
• Right Contact Name, address, pc, tele, fax, email
• Summary Statement – objective and brief on you
• Personal Details date of birth, marital status, health
• Details of School, Colleges and Universities
• Qualifications, achievements, skills and awards
• Experience of work e.g. part- full time, training
• Details of your hobbies and interests
• Association – membership professional or social
• Referees – two who give views on you
