welcome to our presentation Reference /creation as an effective learning system for teaching languages.
I'm Henk Roefofs senior Lecturer at Stenden University, Im also an entrepreneurand my co-author Rizwan Saleem (begroeting Hindi) and the other co-author adriaan[missing]and my assisstant Qi Yuan (begroeting Chinees)Today we are delighted to be in Ploand in G$#@# where we have been invited to present our paper on language learning using a simulation game in a network environmentWe have developedThe Edupreneurial Method using Zapp-Learning and reference creationIn our presentation we will try to give an impression of this method, therefore the outlineTo days motto is No Chinese - No MoneyWe used the game simulation to improve entrepreneurial behavior and skills. In an earlier article (USAsbe)we proved that entrepreneurial behavior can be taught and learned using the pull learning method of edupreneurial in Le game. Le game is a simulation entrepreneurship game. When entrepreneurial learning is as effective as we think, it should be possible to simultaneously teach and learn something very effectively: such as the basic vocabulary of a totally unfamiliar language.Learning a language is far more difficult and complex than just learning vocabulary by headLearning a foreign language seems to be very difficult and complex with the main focus on spelling, grammar and learning by head.We discovered that learning a foreign language by another approach and method of learning is far more effective efficient flexible and creative. Combining learning a language with entrepreneurship through Reference Creation brings along another process. A dynamic process of interaction, competitive, learning by doing and success driven. The edupreneurial method.
We found out that learning can be influenced by creating an environment that appeals to all our senses and positive emotions. Success drives success!Competences to be successful in a professional environment are the goal of learning. So we have to teach to be successfulIn this approach we are supported by Antonio Dimasio (Descartes error). He points out that organisms memorize unconsciously their experiences, feelings and emotions in dispositional representations. It made clear that for learning a language, to communicate in a foreign language we had to create learning elements which activate or stimulate this making of mental images. The edupreneurial method helps retrieving internal images through senses, positive emotions and experiences and thus creating an effective learning process in a authentic dynamic environment. Sometimes even unconscious we found out. These mental images will become in the simulation a part of your reference
If people act by survival mode. They will act pro active to survive. Survivors can tell the story of their life. Non-survivors don't, because they aren’t there to tell. So in our simulations it’s about pull learning. Success drive success
Benefit beyond needTheory of Connectivism: Example of computer course translation into hindi.
Personal anecdote. I hate peppermint, I used to love it
Let’s show an example in a short movie.Learning is different from teaching. It is possible to combine language learning with entrepreneurship learning. The edupreneurial method is learning by doing in an authentic environment. The natural way people learn is partly driven by the need to survive. Damasio explains this by examples of how people (organisms) memorize their experiences and how it is stored in our brain. (3 levels: 1. Instinctive (survival mode) 2. Social ... 3. .......) The recognition of certain events is steered by our senses, emotion and feelings. The under the surface stored images become apparent and conscious again through circumstances and similarity of the stored away experiences. Unconscious learning is learning from your personal context by experience.Confucius versus Descartes..
Language is also a verbal expression of culture, daily life, impression, emotions and personal experiences. A tool to communicate and to survive. We proved that playing in a simulation setting with other participants the learning process increased. Participants learned unconsciously by playing the simulation with all their senses, personal emotions and experiences. The drive to survive and win urges them to communicate, interact and connect to other players. The edupreneurial method combines education and entrepreneurship to realize effective, efficient, flexible and creative learningNo communication - no entrepreneurship
Learning is an issue of experience and related references.Focus on a teaching process that makes learning experiences “fit”. Reference Creation is an authentic learning environment which has the abilities to realize such a process:
