This document announces a briefing session on whether fair trade contributes to sustainable development. The session will include introductory remarks and two panels discussing whether fair trade can help reduce poverty and connect producers to consumers through better market access and support for farmers and communities. The objectives are to raise awareness of challenges in fair trade, promote information sharing, and feed the debate by bringing different perspectives.
