2. We feel that we have also been successful in our Promotional Magazine Poster
Advertisement. This is because when evaluating our product and when we asked
our target audience for feedback people were mainly positive and said that we
implemented the house colours well. The audience also said that it linked with the
music video well and went ‘perfectly’ with the DVD cover. They also felt that
audience went well with the whole theme and that the house colours compliment
each other but contrast enough to stand out. They felt that the promotional
magazine poster lures in the audience through its simplicity and that the editing
looked effective. It appealed to our target audience of teenagers and R’n’B lovers
and feedback from our target audience was that our magazine advertisement
would entice them and encourage them to buy the CD.
The only constructive criticism received was that it is too similar to the DVD cover
but we, and many of the target audience, felt that it was just similar enough to
provide the audience with a link and to be effective supplementary products that
compliment each other and our music video. Another thing some people felt was
that there was too little text but we felt that too much text would bore and put of
the target so audience. However this was a common constructive criticism so if we
were to does this project again than we would have more text to interest the
target audience.
3. The target audience further said that the website was an interesting aspect
to the magazine poster because it made it look more professional and
encouraged audience interaction. They also said that our promotional
magazine poster advertisement had the typical codes and conventions
found in official products such as the page number and masthead at the
bottom of the page and this seemed professional looking.
I feel that we did well because we incorporated what we learnt for AS into
our A2 work. For AS we had to create a magazine cover, contents page and
double page spread for our main task. We integrated what we learnt in AS
using skills such as knowledge to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to
an even greater level of skill.
Overall we and our target audience felt that our magazine is poster is
professional looking and well executed. I also feel that I have taken a lot
from this and learnt a great deal thorough my AS and my A2 work that I
know will be useful.
