With the growing use of technology in learning and 24/7 access to information, there is growing interest in ensuring students develop 21st-century learning skills such as enquiry, participation, creativity and digital literacy. One way of nurturing these skills in students is to involve them in developing learning resources. In the School of Medicine students have identified that student-led eLearning development can evolve lifelong learning skills and encourage interprofessional and collaborative working. Furthermore, creating learning resources and peer-led teaching activities not only demonstrate students’ understanding of the curriculum, but also helps them gain a deeper understanding of the subject material, as well as pedagogical skills.

Abstract:
"At Unitec NZ practitioners have been involved in adapting existing programmes, and developing new ones, which integrate and exploit Information Communication Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching (ICTELT). Although practitioners are frequently experienced course designers, they often focus on the technology as opposed to effective pedagogy and practice, and are sometimes overwhelmed by factors such as time pressure and ICT skills requirements.
The ICTELT process model, conceptual design framework, mindmap and self-diagnostic tools were therefore developed to guide practitioners through the design, implementation, and evaluation process. The resulting scaffolded approach is appropriate for small teams or individuals working with limited resources, as well as those working within highly-resourced environments. The structure of the ICTELT model is flexible enough for practitioners to blend approaches of their choice, while also encouraging the alignment of pedagogical perspectives and practice. Furthermore, an iterative approach is encouraged whereby a design is developed, piloted, evaluated, revisited, modified and re-evaluated over time.
This paper has three main aims. The first is to ground the subject in current literature. Secondly, the ICTELT model and suite of tools will be described. Reference will finally be made to a case study conducted at Unitec NZ, along with associated implications."
iPLE: Integrating VLE and ePortfolios
This document summarizes a study on integrating virtual learning environments and e-portfolios to provide students with more control over their learning. The study found that:
1) Students felt the e-portfolio was useful for organizing academic work and gave them flexibility in their learning process, but was not as suitable for personal data.
2) The e-portfolio facilitated group work and collaboration, though it was not seen as enhancing social interaction as much.
3) Over the course of the project, students increasingly customized their views in the environment, but overall customization remained limited.

Abstract:
"At Unitec NZ practitioners have been involved in adapting existing programmes, and developing new ones, which integrate and exploit Information Communication Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching (ICTELT). Although practitioners are frequently experienced course designers, they often focus on the technology as opposed to effective pedagogy and practice, and are sometimes overwhelmed by factors such as time pressure and ICT skills requirements.
The ICTELT process model, conceptual design framework, mindmap and self-diagnostic tools were therefore developed to guide practitioners through the design, implementation, and evaluation process. The resulting scaffolded approach is appropriate for small teams or individuals working with limited resources, as well as those working within highly-resourced environments. The structure of the ICTELT model is flexible enough for practitioners to blend approaches of their choice, while also encouraging the alignment of pedagogical perspectives and practice. Furthermore, an iterative approach is encouraged whereby a design is developed, piloted, evaluated, revisited, modified and re-evaluated over time.
This paper has three main aims. The first is to ground the subject in current literature. Secondly, the ICTELT model and suite of tools will be described. Reference will finally be made to a case study conducted at Unitec NZ, along with associated implications."
iPLE: Integrating VLE and ePortfolios
This document summarizes a study on integrating virtual learning environments and e-portfolios to provide students with more control over their learning. The study found that:
1) Students felt the e-portfolio was useful for organizing academic work and gave them flexibility in their learning process, but was not as suitable for personal data.
2) The e-portfolio facilitated group work and collaboration, though it was not seen as enhancing social interaction as much.
3) Over the course of the project, students increasingly customized their views in the environment, but overall customization remained limited.
University Learning Spaces - Disciplinary Perspectives - Introduction
Recent trends in higher education learning space design include designing spaces to support active and social models of learning, taking advantage of new technologies, and opening spaces up to connect formal learning with the world outside the university. Learning spaces are now designed around human-centered principles in collaboration with users. Technological developments like mobile devices and wireless connectivity allow learning to extend beyond physical spaces and bring remote and professional environments into the academic setting. These trends have impacted the design of specialized disciplinary spaces as well.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
