This document provides guidance for applicants seeking professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng). It outlines two key competencies that applicants must provide examples demonstrating: 1) For CEng, applying new/advancing technology or solving technical problems through analysis. For IEng, applying technology in work. 2) For CEng, analyzing and solving problems using theoretical and practical methods, such as research for an engineering solution. For IEng, applying methods to design, develop, or operate an engineering system. Applicants must provide one or two clearly written examples within maximum word counts for each competency.

On this form you should give examples from your work against each of the specific statements below, which are
based on the Engineering Council Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). Further detailed
guidance can be found in UK-SPEC, should you need it.
The assessors will be looking for one or two clearly written examples from your work. Maximum word counts are
