2. THE POSITION – SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Job Scope Overview
Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for the execution of new and existing supplier quality reviews. They
must utilize problem solving and lean tools to drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost with our suppliers.
Key Relationships
This position reports to the Regional Director- Supplier Development
Dotted line to Director of Quality and Director of Purchasing.
Major Responsibilities
Audit and assess new suppliers from a Total Quality perspective.
Ensure that Purchasing practices are in alignment with TS16949 responsibilities.
Responsible for management reporting of Supplier Quality metrics
Benchmark total quality with critical suppliers and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide leadership and direction to the organization through sharing of technical expertise.
Responsible for developing and managing process that ensures maximum return on warranty recovery.
Ensure that monthly metric reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner
Lead Supplier APQP on major projects.
Audit and assess existing suppliers.
Responsible for defining and improving total quality for sustaining products and suppliers.
Maximize recovery of total “warranty” related expenses.
Candidate Specifications:
Education and Ideal Experience
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, related degree, or equivalent.
Experienced in all aspects of quality assurance including TS16949 and APQP process.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experienced in working with and leading cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with world class manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and use of office equipment.

3. Managing Work Processes: Is an effective process, work flow, and systems designer; is good at figuring out
what to measure to track progress; sets up systems that can almost manage themselves; is a master at the
effectiveness and efficiency of work systems; can quickly diagnose and fix a work flow problem; always looking for
incremental process improvement.
Compensation
The total compensation package will be based on the experience of the qualified candidate.
