9. Why Did We Create A
Questionnaire
A questionnaire is a set of questions used to collect factual knowledge.
We chose to create a questionnaire for a number of reasons. Firstly our
questionnaire allowed us to reach a large amount of people within a small
amount of time. The questionnaire allowed us to ask specific questions to our
target audience which would later on benefit us, as it would allow us to
proceed effectively with our questionnaire. Also this questionnaire was
extremely beneficial as it allowed us to see what our target audience expected
to see in our documentary. It gave me a better idea of what codes and
conventions I wanted to use and what documentary style I thought would be
best suited for the audience. Additionally the questionnaire helped me
understand what parts of the documentary I would need to concentrate mostly
on and what not to add to the documentary. The questionnaire has helped me
discover the kind of standard my audience expect my documentary to be up to
and what I would need to do in order to reach that high standard.
10. What I have learnt from the questionnaire,
and how I would apply it to my work
• I have learnt a lot from creating this questionnaire. I
have learnt what my target audience is expecting to
see when they watch my documentary. I have also
learnt how to portray my documentary in a sensitive
and considerate way, since I am presenting such a
delicate issue. Furthermore I have learnt different
aspects about my target audience, which would
benefit me when creating my documentary as I
would know what they would want me to include.
