1. Scene 1 For the firstscene we have done a montage of
picturesof people doingtheirhomework.This
has beendone because itinstantlytellsthe
viewerswhatthe documentaryisonandisalso a
more excitingwaytostart the documentary
whichwill make the viewer’scarryonwatching
as it isimportanttheydon’tgetboredinthe first
part the video.Thisscene will lastaround30
secondsandwill include music.
Scene 2 The secondscene will consistof information
aboutthe college,asanintroduction.
Informationthatwill be usedwouldwhere the
sixthformisand the amountof studentsthatit
has etc.This will take about10 to 15 seconds
and isthere justto give the viewer’smore
knowledge onthe college.
Scene 3 Scene 3 will be a time lapse fromthe waistdown
inthe corridorsat the college of the students
passingby.Thisis justfora backgroundsothat
thisgivesusa chance to introduce some facts
abouthomeworkinsteadof havingaplain
backgroundso that the audience isnotgetting
bored.Thiswill lastaround20 seconds.
Scene 4 Thisscene issimilartoscene 3 as these shotsof
college studentsworkinginthe college will be
usedas a backgroundso that the narrator can
againproduce more facts that are unbiased.This
will leadintothe voxpopinterviewseventually.
Thisscene is about 15 seconds.
Scene 5 Scene 5 is where we will putinthe voxpops
interview andasthisisan importantpart,we
will have about45 secondstoa minute worthof
it.This scene will be usedtogetthe opinionsof
homeworkof the students. We will doamedium
shottype and have the studentpositionedtothe
rightas thiswill make itfeel thathe istalkingto
the audience.
2. Scene 6 Thisis againanotherscene where we have
gottenotherstudentslearninginthe college
libraryandthisis to be usedbefore the experts
so that we can introduce themandalso
summarise the opinionsof the studentsthatwas
playedinscene 5. Thisscene will be around15
secondslong.
Scene 7 Thiswill be the scene withthe expertsinandwe
will asktheiropinionsonhomeworklikewe did
to the studentsinscene 5. Thiswill give usviews
on homeworkfromstudentsandalsothe
principle of the collegewhowill be the expert
that we will be questioning.We will be lookingat
doingthisinterviewinhisoffice tomake itlook
more professional.Thisscene will take roughly
45 seconds.
Scene 8 Scene 8 will be a panningshotof the
examinationnotice board,andwe couldhave
Paul’snarrationabouthow homeworkimproves
examresults.Having thisoverthe topwill be
more interestingthanjustastill shotonPaul
givinghisanswersandkeepingthe audience
watching.Thisscene will be aroundthe 10 to 15
secondmark.
Scene 9 Scene 9 will be the secondbatchof voxpops
whichwill give usmore studentsopinions,but
thistime maybe lessbiasedandmore positive on
homeworktogive a range of views. Like scene5,
we will be doingamediumshotwiththe student
positionedtothe right.
Scene 10 Scene 10 will be an interview withJulie whois
the studentdevelopmentcoordinator of the
college.She hasadifferentview onhomework
than Paul as she sympathiseswithstudents
more.Thiswill be goodas it showsa memberof
staff at the college agreeingwithstudentsand
againgivesmore opinionsonthe topicwhichis
alwaysa result.
3. Scene 11 The last scene will be ashotthat is goingto
wrap upthe documentaryandwill be ashot on
St Alpheges(PrimarySchool outside the college)
and that were goingfora break.The narrator
will say,we see how childreninprimarilyschool
are involvedwithhomeworkfromanearlyage,
or somethingalongthose lines.Thisisagood
wayto finishthisdocumentaryaswe are
makingthe viewerwantingtocarryon
watching.
