97. TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT
The 2014 Table Tennis tournament was a fierce competition, with winners
in the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced categories bringing back
glory to their companies. Yahoo! won back the Golden Paddle from HDF.
98. WEDDING RECEPTION IN RESEARCH
PARK
Staci, facility coordinator at Yahoo! and Chad, project
manager at John Deere, were married May of 2014 and
held their reception in the John Deere/Yahoo! Building
where they first met.
99. OUTSIDE AT RESEARCH PARK
Musical acts Davina and the Vagabonds and Terrance
Siemen and the Zydeco Experience brought out the
crowds in fun, family events over the summer.

Sunday on campus to learn about Research Park.

Abbott's Research Park office hosted an event to
expose exchange students to an opportunity to
work in Abbott's Champaign office on campus
and be trained to work full-time in Abbott's
China offices.

With an attendance of over 200 participants and 25 speakers,
Mobile Development Day provides an opportunity for attendees to

• Serionix had a wonderful team bonding experience
while hiking at Turkey Run in August.
• Filtration media was produced for a commercial
partner. It came off a pilot-scale production line that
was designed and built over the summer!
• 2 Interns were finalists for intern awards, and one of
them won!

• HYX Biotech LLC Initiated a project “the analysis of the cellulosic
market and its incumbent players” in Spring semester 2014. This
project involved collaboration with UIUC graduate students in
Technology Management.
• Dr. Fu, President Li, and a delegation from the parent company
visited the Bioenergy Research Unit (BER) at United States
Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service in May.
The two parties had broad discussion on potential cooperation
on development of enzyme products for biomass degradation
for advanced biofuel purpose.
