TIPS FOR BUILDING 
BRAND AWARENESS

Let’s face it – if your brand isn’t getting enough exposure 
with your target audience, you’re in trouble. It may be 
time to build (or rebuild) awareness of your brand – here 
are a few things to consider. 
1. DEVELOP A CLEAR, CONSISTENT 
BRAND MESSAGE AND USE IT 
Send it out and update all company 
communications such as pr releases, email 
signatures, collateral, your LinkedIn corporate 
page, Facebook, etc. 
2. HAVE A DISTINCTIVE LOGO 
Create a design that effectively represents 
your company’s values and character. It 
should also be easily recognizable. 
3. STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD 
Differentiating yourself from competitors is crucial 
in convincing prospects to buy from you instead 
of someone else. Understand the needs of your 
target audience and position yourself as the go-to 
source. Create content that answers questions 
and provides helpful information at all stages of 
the prospects’ sales journey. Share this information 
through blogs, white papers, infographics, social 
media and video. But remember– TELL, DON’T SELL. 
4. DON’T BREAK YOUR PROMISE 
A brand is really a promise that the company will meet (or ideally 
exceed) customers’ expectations. Establishing a consistent 
customer experience is an effective way to differentiate you from 
the competition. 
5. INCREASE EXPOSURE 
• Update your website and include the new logo 
& message 
• Let your customers know via direct marketing 
(email and snail mail) 
• Let everyone know about your new logo & message 
• Post regularly in your social media channels 
• Blog 
• Post a press release via Newswire, LinkedIn and all of 
your networking associates 
• Update your LinkedIn personal and corporate pages
