2. SOUND ANALYSIS.

before she goes into the hunger games.
3. PURPOSE OF SOUND
The pupose of sound is to:
Set the moood / atmosphere in a scene
Emphasize reality.
Sound can either be Diegetic (sounds the character can hear) or
non diegetic(sounds the character cannot hear.)
An example of diegetic sound is dialogue, and an example of
non diegetic sound is Score(music) .
4. DIEGETIC SOUND:
Throughout the whole clip the only sound that can be heard is
diegetic sound. This is beacuse the sounds in this scene are
all sounds which the character (Katniss) can hear.
For example, in this part of
the scene the protagonist
can hear the audience
clapping which we know is
part of the diegesis.
There are no non-diegetic
sounds.
5. VOLUME CONTROL

7. SYNCHRONOUS SOUND
Synchronous sounds are sounds that are synced with the
object giving of f the sound.
An example of this in
the clip is in the part
where Katniss starts
spinning and her
dress makes a noise
as it is rubbing
together.
8. FOLEY & SOUND EFFECTS
Foleying is using a dif ferent object to imitate the sound of
other objects. Sound ef fects are sounds added to the visuals
in the editing.
An example of foleying is also
in this clip, In the part where
Katniss is spinning around.
The foley is used to imitate
the sound of material rubbing
together.
This scene is an example of
the use of sound effects as it
would have been added during
the editing process so that the
sound is more distinct.
9. DIALOGUE
Dialogue is the speech made from characters when talking.
Examples of dialogue in the scene are:
