2. The hunger games- Girl on fire
I had to analyse the different sounds within this clip
which included volume control and dialogue.

3. Volume Control
At the beginning of the clip the sounds were quite loud
as the crowds cheered.
However Katniss is really nervous so she cant help but
block out the sounds this means it becomes really
echoy.
4. Sound Perspective
This is where the audience can tell if the sound is
coming from a particular place, whether it is near or
far.
In this clip we can tell it is coming from a distance as
the audience are clapping and cheering and are far
away from the stage.
5. Dialogue
Towards the end of the interview the interviewer had a
sypthetic tone towards Katniss when talking about her
volunteering for her sister.
6. Ambient Sound
Throughtout the interview you can hear the audience
constanly clapping and cheering.
This is the background sound in diegesis however its
not in the field of vision.
7. Sound Bridge
This is where it continues across one or more shots,
this is where the camera isnt on the character talking.
It would be on other characters or objects however the
voice of the character still carries on.
An example is when the camera is on Katniss but the
interviewer is talking.
8. Non diegetic sounds
Non diegetic sounds are sounds which the main
character/characters cant hear but the audience and
other people can.
This clip was an example because Katniss couldnt hear
what the interviewer was saying because of her nerves.
9. Sound effects and Foley
When her dress ‘swooshes” around it is unrealistic and
added in to the sound effects
The sound of the fire burning on her dress is also part
of the sound effects and Foley.
