  5. 5. Google is activating 1.3m Android devices a day Google has revealed that it is activating 1.3 million Android devices a day, up from 1 million a day in June. Smartphones influence 6% of UK in-store purchases Almost half of the UK’s smartphone users have used their phones to research product information before or during a shopping visit, which means that smartphones influence 6%, or over £15 billion in UK sales. In just 4 months EL James became the best selling author ever on Amazon UK EL James’ Fifty Shades trilogy has made her the best selling author of all time on Amazon UK; yes, she’s sold even more than JK Rowling. Fifty Shades reached 35m ‘users’ more quickly than Instagram did Both Instagram & Fifty Shades became popular quickly, at about the same time, but the book hit 35 million users more quickly, based on data from The Next Web.
