Samsung beat Apple as the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer In India, the number of facebook users who access fb on mobile has see 8x growth in 2 yearsImplications:1. Globally brands are beginning to appreciate the need for a mobile strategy, as user behavior on this device is different from a bigger screen2. Android and iOS lead the pack among smartphone users, so the experiences being built need to be compatible with these 2

However industry estimates say that Windows 8 has not been as successful as earlier versions signaling the slow decline of PC’s 2. Microsoft has launched its first piece of hardware – a tablet called Surface. From Eric Schmidt to Amitabh Bachchan, everyone has viewed and danced Gangnam Style.Implications:Digital users today are truly global netizens with access to the latest, best andinnovative content, irrespective of where it’s been created. Social networks allowusers to find friends with similar interests and create a global content network.Brands can leverage this to create relevant content for their users.No one can “create” a viral” other than users. Brands should feel comfortable to giveup control and let users decide what type of content they want more of. 6
