Most common Targets • Stick to essay question • MUST HAVE MORE DETAILED EXPLAINATIONS FROM CASE STUDIES – Catfish – Interactive media: facebook & social networking – Black mirror – Advertising (hyperbeauty and hypersexuality) • Essay structure – By pomo features – Or by texts • Use PEAL paragraphs • Make writing (grammar) and handwriting more clear • Know your case studies and fully explain them – 2 platforms covered (i.e. cant just do film and TV) – At least 5 case studies • At least 2-3 theories – Know the theories • Baurillard: hyperreality (which a lot of you are a little confused about – revise this!) AND simulation/simulacra • Focault: panopticanisation (a lot of you generalise and just say it’s voyeurism……..remember, he argued that the act of watching gives power (because audiences change their behaviours when they know someone is watching) • Comparisons between texts • Debates: for and against

Revision • The more an essay doesn’t make sense, it shows you didn’t revise properly….showing you weren’t prepared so you panicked and wrote a bunch of confusing sentences • MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF! • Read over the powerpoints – On class blog • Read over the handouts • Read over revision notes you made (or make new ones if you want) • Test yourself on the basic facts (case study details and pomo features etc)
